Went back for the first time in a long time because I saw the post about the new changes and such. The salsa and the cheese dip we ordered tasted good. I ordered a chicken chimichanga entree for $15.95. There were NO SIDES with this entree. It was the chimichanga and a small fried tortilla bowl that held lettuce, a small slice of tomato and a small amount of guacamole. I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant where entrees do not have any sides. Also, the tortilla for the chimichanga was barely cooked. For these reasons, I will not be returning.
Stopped by Vallarta Mexican Restaurant for dinner and had a real good time. The food came out hot and fresh, full of flavor just like homemade. The staff was friendly, checked on us often, and made sure we had everything we needed. The place was clean, music was nice, and the portions were big for the price. I’ll sure be back next time I’m in the mood for some good Mexican food.

Close to early. Start putting chairs up on top of tables when customers are still there at 9:00 and dont close til 10:00 like they know if there is gonna be a party come in or not.

Please look into your beef. I'm not sure if it's just sitting too long to grow bacteria, or if it's just not cooked to a high enough temp to kill it off- or what. But I have had two different family members, on two separate occasions, get food poisoning after eating the beef from here. It's gone downhill since the exchange in owners, and I haven't felt compelled to leave a poor review of the taste and quality... but since you guys own more than one restaurant in this area and making folks sick, I feel it needs to be addressed and handled promptly. If an owner or manager gets back in touch with me saying they will look into this issue- I will remove this poor review.
Good food and good time

First door was locked with a sign on the door, saying Monday closed. So we drove around and the other door said open. Went in, asked for 2 shots of well tequila, our food and 4 more shots of well tequila. Everything good till we got our bill. She charged us for don julio instead of well tequila. So 6 shots x 14 each instead of the shot we asked for, which shoulda been around $4-6.. not a good ending. Listen to ur customers Lauren F. Complete rip off, my bill shoulda been 60-70 not 140, u still got a $40 tip as I’m a bartender.. but pay attention. Won’t be back as I feel I got scammed

I ate here 3 times in 2 weeks for a full test
I would have given 5 stars, but the portion are very small and left me still hungry. The prices are a steep for the amount of grilled steak or chicken you get. There is a cheaper option — diced chicken in a can for $14 — but unfortunately, it doesn't taste great. The drinks also seemed watered down.
On the bright side, the service was outstanding, and the grilled food itself was delicious. With better portion sizes and drinks, this place could easily be a top spot.

Absolutely one of the best places to eat on the Alabama coast. The atmosphere is beautiful. The food is delicious. And after 61 years of age, the most beautiful looking and best tasting drinks ever. The ocean margarita. I give it a 10+++. Service was fast. Staff was top notch. A great experience.

We returned to Vallartas after a long absence and found the place completely renovated, updated and full of charm. Our order was quickly taken and served. They bring the customary chips and salsa but also a black bean dip that was super tasty and flavorful. Looking forward to adding Vallartas back into the rotation.

We made it to Vallartas restaurant in time for their lunch special. Our waitress, that did an awesome job, told us that they had a lunch special. The special was any two lunch entrees for $20. We asked for and received this special. My wife ordered the Vallarta’s Mexican steak bowl. I ordered a Burrito supreme and made it steak with onions and peppers. The waitress asked what sauce I wanted, brown, red, cheese. I choose the cheese sauce. Nothing else was said to us about extra charges. I did not see anything in writing on the menu about extra charges. I got my check and expected it to be about $30. 2 drinks, tax, and a $20 special price. The check came back over $40. They charged my wife a $1 extra for her steak. The drinks were $2.99 each my steak was $3.50. The onions and peppers were $1.25 each. And my cheese sauce was $2.25 extra. That comes to an extra total of$9.25 the meals received an $8 discount. So, the total came to be a $1.25 over the discount. A discount that totally disappeared after the addition of the extra charges that no one had told us about. The manager was not available to talk to us. But, a message was sent that these charges were because we had not stuck to the listed ingredients on the menu. But, on my wife’s Mexican Bowl, the menu actually said any meat. We have lived here for six years. We have been eating at Vallarta’s faithfully for the last four years. It was never this way in the past. They redecorated inside and opened the fancy Mexican Seafood restaurant next door. And their prices went up significantly. We are seniors. We can’t afford that kind of price gouging because of some new decorations and tables and chairs and so forth. I am very disturbed that this restaurant’s owners and or managers decided to stick it to their customers. Especially to locals that just want a decent place to eat. I can’t talk for my wife, but I can speak for us as a couple. We will not be coming back so that the manager can just stick it to us again.
Enjoy your newly redecorated restaurant. It’s going to be at least two seats emptier than you expected!
Respectfully!

Upon arrival, it appeared we had made a grave error in our lunch choice. As the old adage goes, you can't judge a book by its cover! The atmosphere was amazing, clean and inviting! The food.... the best Mexican we have ever had! Even the bathrooms were clean, which is a rare occurrence. We will definitely be back on our next trip!
