Worst Waffle House ever been to. The cooks were so high it took an hour to get two hashbrowns and an order of bacon out of them. Not to mention the entire place smelled so heavily of weed it made us sick. It took the security guard who was very nice and gave us our order after seeing it sit on the counter for quite a while after it took 40 minutes for them to cook it. The “waitress” just threw it on the server counter and walked away. There were no customers btw. The security guard felt bad for us and bagged it himself.

I've been to dozens of Waffle Houses across the South, but the Fultonville, Alabama location has set a new gold standard for what this iconic chain can be. From the moment I walked through the door, I knew this visit would be different.

The atmosphere was exactly what you hope for: that familiar sizzle of the grill, the warm lighting, the unmistakable aroma of coffee and hash browns. But what elevated this experience from good to extraordinary was the people.

Let me start with Kerry, hands down the best server I've ever had at any Waffle House, period. She has this rare combination of efficiency and genuine warmth that made me feel like a regular even though it was my first time there. She anticipated needs before I could ask, kept my coffee topped off without hovering, and had this infectious smile that made the whole diner feel brighter. When she recommended the pecan waffle with extra butter, she wasn't just taking an order—she was sharing something she genuinely loved. And she was absolutely right.

The food itself was flawless. My eggs were cooked exactly to order, the hash browns were perfectly crispy and well-seasoned (scattered, smothered, and covered, naturally), and that pecan waffle was a revelation. Every element came out hot, fresh, and with the kind of care you don't always find at 24-hour diners.

But what really impressed me was meeting Larry, the general manager. You can always tell when a restaurant is run by someone who genuinely cares, and Larry clearly does. He was checking in with tables, supporting his staff, and maintaining standards that showed in every detail. The restaurant was spotless, the staff worked like a well-oiled machine, and there was this palpable sense of pride in the place. That kind of culture comes from the top, and Larry has built something special here.

The Fultonville Waffle House isn't just serving food—they're serving an experience. It's proof that a diner doesn't have to be fancy to be exceptional. It just needs people who care, and this location has that in spades.

Whether you're a Waffle House regular or someone who thinks they're all the same, do yourself a favor and stop by this location. Ask for Kerry if you can. Order the pecan waffle. And take a moment to appreciate what a well-run restaurant looks like.

Five stars, without hesitation. I'll be back every time I'm passing through.

Very slow, dirty tables, sticky floors. Went up the road to the one in Gardendale, it is clean and fast. Served within 5 minutes of ordering.

Went there Sunday morning 5am. Doors locked. No sign on door. Called no expplanation. Very disappointing to see doors locked and employees just staring at you but no attempt to open or let me know why.

Had a wonderful experience at the Fultondale AL exit. Kamya and Carrie and everyone there were very friendly and chatty and happy to talk. The food as usual was phenomenal! I had the 2 pork chops and grits. My son had the sausage egg and cheese breakfast melt and hashbrowns covered chucked and diced(pic of an empty plate). The grill guys were also great and chatty and accommodating. We are on our way to Gulf Shores and will stop there again on the way home! I have found that Waffle House never disappoints! Thank you 😊
