This place is a food destination. You're probably not going to stumble onto it by accident, but once you find it, you'll probably want to go back. I highly recommend the bacon cheeseburger, fries, drink, and a fried strawberry/cream cheese pie. They seem to have good looking fresh produce year-round and have plants for sale in the spring, also.

The Greasy Spoon Kitchen inside the Greasy Cove General store is the definition of a hole in the wall restaurant. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but they are putting together some of the best burgers in Alabama on the inside. I got my double patty burger with Grilled Onions, Jalapeño’s, and pepper jack cheese along with a side of cinnamon sugar sweet potato fries and that filled me up better than almost any other burger around. Total price with a drink was $22 cash, a little more if you pay with card. They’ve got large portions for a fair price and it’s a nice family run operation that deserves some support so I will happily eat here again!

We are so glad we decided to give this place a chance as it is now one of our top fav places for a delicious burger. The pimento and cheese burger is worth the 40+ minute drive for me! The fries are hand cut and seasoned to perfection, and the staff is super friendly. If you’re looking for a burger dripping with flavor, this is the place to go!

I had never heard of this place until I saw a post on facebook saying that is where his wife wanted to go for her birthday. I’m so glad I saw it because my husband LOVES cheeseburgers and he is always saying how he wishes he had a GOOD cheeseburger. Let me tell you, the greasy spoon kitchen has a GOOD cheeseburger! The meat hangs off the bun at least an inch, isn’t dried out, not full of gristle and tastes amazing!!! I’m not a hamburger fan but I had one, too and aside from it being delicious, it was juicy and so messy 😋I couldn’t eat it all and the fries, oh my goodness ❤️. Everything was hot and FRESH, even though the owners were the only 2 there, we still didn’t wait forever for our food.👏👏 I can’t leave a review without rating the “entertainment” ROMAN!👼 he is the 4 (going on 40) year old son of the owners. He is hilarious, friendly and all boy. He came by our table and talked to us for a bit and we loved him. He works hard to “pay bills”, he’s the only person I’ve ever met that likes to pay bills 🤣🤣 I may or may not have aggravated him a little just to get him going but he’s a pleasant little boy who is learning what life is about at an early age. I say more parents need to teach their kids to work for what they have. 👏👏 Anyway, you will NOT be disappointed if you check them out, they’re having pork chops stewed little potatoes and cornbread today for a new year’s lunch. I’m sure it’ll be just as good.

We drove 40 minutes to have lunch and we absolutely loved it! I had the chicken salad and hubby had BLT with fries. I'm telling you it was yummy!!!! Plus Cindy and the staff were very friendly and welcoming 💗
On Oct.24 I took a trip to the Greasy Spoon Kitchen. This place has the Best burgers. The burgers are hand patted and always cooked to perfection. The workers are always friendly and their service impeccable. The only downside side today the fries were cooked to long almost burnt. Please don’t cook them so long. I will definitely go back for The Best Burger in Alabama!
