The food is great. The drive thru could use some work. It is very slow, so do not be in a hurry and go through the drive thru. The employees are nice and I am sure they are doing the best they can.

Got the Italian, and it was dripping oil, which I'm nit a fan of and the bread was toasted pretty hard. Not bad, but not the best sandwich.

I do not go to Panera often because we haven’t lived near one due to military life. However, while I was traveling to visit family in Alabama, I was craving a fountain Mountain Dew and remembered Panera was one of the few stores that had that product.
And I just want to make note and thank the employee in the drive thru last week (Sept. 2025) for treating me with such kindness.
So, thank you to this employee at the Panera in Gardendale for being kind to this military family. We have been going through some of the hardest things we have ever had to face and it’s just nice when someone smiles, looks you in the eye, and helps you out no questions asked.

Forgot our sandwich and gave us a small salad after we paid for a sandwich and a large salad...how hard is this? Wasn't even busy. Amd no fork...

I've only eaten at Panera once for my birthday, and that was a pleasant in-store meal. However, my recent DoorDash order was extremely disappointing and frankly, inedible.
My broccoli cheddar soup arrived looking over-microwaved, missing the usual small pieces of broccoli, and just appeared old. The avocado on my Chicken Avocado Sandwich was not only covered in prominent brown spots but also completely mushy. To make matters worse, the lettuce and tomato were old, wilted, dried out, and flimsy. The bread on the sandwich was also old and fell apart, which, combined with the other issues, meant the entire sandwich was impossible to eat.
The quality of the ingredients and preparation for this order was far below acceptable standards. It's incredibly frustrating to pay for a meal that ends up being this poor. I sincerely hope Panera addresses these significant quality control issues, especially for delivery orders.

First time eating in. Truly enjoyed the experience. Had to have my favorite, the broccoli cheese soup. Good meal with family

Always out of items. Constantly not able to serve basic items offered on the menu.

As I sat waiting for my family’s food, I heard a woman come up to the counter and tell the employee that her breakfast sandwiches were supposed to have egg on them, and the employee retrieved the eggs to put on their sandwiches. Simple mistake. I finally got my four sandwiches and drinks and sat at our table. All our breakfast sandwiches were also missing egg… why. Bread was hard and food was cold.

Also, the waiting/drink machine area smells like it hasn’t been cleaned in over a month. If you’ve ever worked in food service, you know the smell.
