BIG Potato Company - Greenville

A friend of mine and my son on vacation in Gulf Shores stopped in here one day for lunch because I love potatoes And had to check it out. It was our first time here. It wasn’t busy at all, which is a plus for me. The guy took our order and within 10 minutes we all had our food. The place looked clean and he restroom was clean. We loved this place. I still can’t understand why it wasn’t busier at lunchtime. I had the taco potato and it was delicious, they are HUGE. I wish they had more of these places. I live in Georgia and there’s not a single one here. But whenever I’m traveling, and I come across one of these, I will definitely be stopping.

Got the crayfish baked potato and hubby got the pulled pork one. Tasty baked potato and I was comfortably full without feeling to stuffed. Will be back again to try more on the next trip!

Finally got the opportunity to stop and have lunch. The sandwiches were excellent! Will be stopping again soon for potatoes. Everyone was incredibly friendly. Highly recommend.

The soda machine was shut down an hour before closing forcing us to buy small soda bottles for 3.00. We were rushed. I don’t know if they have a new manager but it’s not the friendly place as before

OK, my first bad idea was to get a sandwich from a place called The Big Potato, but they were on the menu. I ordered a BLT, simple. What I got was a L sandwich with tomato's and bacon sliced so thin you could read the newspaper through them! And the lettuce was shredded. Who puts shredded lettuce on a BLT? I didn't even eat the whole thing. Figured I would save my daily carb intake on something more satisfying. No salt, no pepper, no flavor! Other than the taste of the mound of shredded lettuce.

Again, my mistake, I guess, for ordering a sandwich from a potato place.

And, fyi, hubby ordered the roast beef sandwich, it was a 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Seriously the BLT's from the QT is 10X better and half the price! (And they give you bacon and tomatoes you can't read through!)

The staff was friendly, but they weren't in a hurry for anything...js. Restaurant was clean and spacious. That's the reason for the 2 stars.

The potatoes are big, tasty, hot and fluffy. But the wait is ridiculous. Ordered at 1:38 got 2 potatoes at 2:20. Wasn't even that busy. If they shortened the wait time it would be 5 stars.

Great food and quick service. Main attraction is a huge baked potato available with a variety of toppings ranging from the ubiquitous butter and sour cream to unique options like crawfish or bbq. I had a Pimento BLT sandwich on my last visit and it was great, too. Welcome alternative to the standard interstate trip fast food options.

Vegetarian options: Is a potato a vegetable? There are also salads available.

Parking: Short walk to Tesla Supercharger in nearby hotel lot

Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available. Ice cream cones for dessert
