Gone here for years. Used to love it. Last time food was so, so. All the plastic glasses were chipped, menu were so old you could not read them and one of the bathrooms was closed down due to falling ceiling. This was the one located in Gulf Shores and will never come back. Owners let a good place go to pot.
This is a place we've enjoyed in the past and we knew what we wanted. We got there a little before dinner hour (low season) and the place was empty, but the staff were happy to have people to help and they were all friendly and cheerful. We had Swamp soup, of course, which is always yummy, blackened whitefish, and a fried platter. All fresh and delicious. Okra, hush puppies, and fries, were hot and tasty. Highly recommend! The food was delicious. We had the shrimp basket (blackened) and whitefish with crawfish sauce. It was all so good. The flavors were rich but not too much, spice level was just right. Even the coleslaw was delicious, light but flavorful, maybe the best we’ve had. Great service as well, very friendly, and the wait wasn’t too long. We’ll be back when we’re in town.
