I had lunch here for the first time today. The food was amazing. The Shrimp and Grits were the best that I’ve ever had. Chef Thomas and his staff are as good as the food they cook and serve. Outstanding!

We pre ordered a day prior for food to be bought to my son’s school as directed by this organization and it never came. This was prior to an away football game so I’m not pleased my kid won’t eat until after midnight. Sadly by the time we realized we were hosed the kids were loaded on a bus and gone. Food might be great but there is an obvious problem elsewhere.

Did an order of take-out boxed lunches today from The Velvet Plate and met Chef! He was very kind and passionate about his food offerings. The brisket was delicious with just the right amount of fat ribbon to it. The whipped sweet potatoes tasted like spiced thanksgiving. The pulled pork was delicious and the Mac & cheese was garlicky and good! The boxes were gently packed and even BBQ sauce was included. Portions were just right and I am quite full. The chocolate chip cookie was a sweet touch too!

Parking: The gravel parking lot is wide open. There's lots of space. Definitely easy to maneuver around in.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a long concrete driveway and doors to the building. Have gently sloping ramp that is wonderfully wheelchair accessible.

I was at a wedding they catered. Their food was fantastic! My favorite was the brisket and the mac and cheese! Chef Thomas was also very friendly. 10/10 all around!

My husband and I tried The Velvet Plate today for lunch. I had the brisket and a baked potato and he had the smoked chicken and green beans. They were both amazing. My brisket was so tender it melted in my mouth. We will definitely be back.

Velvet Plate catered the Friday night Welcome Party for our son's wedding on June 1. I received so many compliments on the food! Thomas helped me design the menu, and it was dispersed around the venue in a graceful and uncrowded manner. Particular hits were the pulled pork sliders, the slider burgers, and the lemon blueberry cheesecake. The prices were reasonable and the service top-notch. I would use them again in an instant. He even offered to put together a special plate for one grandmother with allergies to onions and garlic.

Had the shrimp and grits. Absolutely fantastic!!! They have actual chefs that have great food knowledge. The best cooked shrimp I’ve had in many years. Highly recommend!!!!!
