It Don't Matter Family Restaurant

oh my the fried chicken is out of this world the best I've ever had

Most horrible “family run” restaurant nearby. Nothing about them is family oriented. They’re hateful. I was cussed out and refused service for recommending another place to a customer. I worked there when I was nearly 15-17 years old. Almost 2 years with them. I made great money there, it was a good restaurant to make money in. However, you were treated like complete crap. My mother passed away August of 2020 ( I was 17 years old). I was a server who make $2.50 an hour plus tips. Paid under the table, our “check” was literally cash in an envelope with our names on it. My check was never over $50 while working there. When I asked for time off to plan my mother’s funeral (because my mother had no family, and no one to do this for her), I was asked by the manager at the time “Why? Your mother was a drug addict and you didn’t care about her?!”. I still took off, risking my job. I took 2 days off. When I returned, I was treated the same if not worse than before leaving those 2 days! I started being charged for customers drinks. We were never trained to write a drink with a buffet order unless it was a soda or coffee. Sweet tea and water come free with buffet purchase. No server EVER wrote sweet tea or water with a buffet ticket. Well, I was charged for SO many drinks AND a box of chicken that my stepmother had paid for with a check. I went on a Tuesday morning before school asking for my check. I needed gas money, and I wanted to get myself some snacks before school. To begin with, I was refused my check by the owners wife. Her reasoning for refusing to give me my check was “your shift has not started. You can get your check when you come in at 2:45”. She was the only “boss” there at the time. I repetitively asked for my check, telling her I NEEDED my money. She went to the back, got the envelope with my name on it and handed it to me. I opened it, and there was a one dollar bill, with multiple buffet tickets, and a receipt for a box of chicken (20 some odd pieces of chicken). My step mother even tried to take the receipt and the substitute check from where she paid with a check. They were disrespectful and disgusting in attitude, so I quit the job there. I’ve lived in this small town for MANY years. Pretty much most of my life growing up, I’ve shopped there HUNDREDS of times since all of that happened. Yet they STILL treat people like CRAP and expect good business. The people that put SO much money into your business, shouldn’t be repetitively treated like this. Lack of human decency, lack of respect to the public who puts money into their pockets, and lack of pest control too. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This restaurant is so unprofessional and racism towards customers and has poor customer service!!

Called in and ordered a liver dinner with okra and a salad. I specifically said I would like my livers fried light. When I got there and checked my food, the livers were so hard. I let them know and they told me it would be a 15 min wait to remake the livers. I waited 15 more minutes to remake the livers and when they brought the food back out the livers was then fried light, but it’s like they redid the okra and it was fried hard. I told the person taking the order my okra is now hard and she said “ What do you want me to do about it”. I asked if I could get a side off the bar so I wouldn’t have to wait again, but she said it would be an extra $1.00. I then asked for the manager who was very rude and said she will just give me a refund instead of just giving me another side to fix the issue. In the process of waiting on a refund the waiters thought it was funny and laughing which was very unprofessional! I highly do not recommend this restaurant to ANYONE!

Stopped for lunch on our way to Panama City Beach. The staff was super nice, and the food/buffet was tasty. Will definitely stop on there again on out next trip!!

Menu said burger came with lettuce tomatoes etc it came with nothing, and I make a way better burger at home, js $7 & change, french fries ordered separately, my daughters shrimp tasted like old grease, her instant potatoes they went and plated off the buffet line was gross, she said her side salad she made herself was good though, I couldn't get our waitress attention to order something else for my daughter, so we asked the hostess if I could get a chicken sandwich for her, couple of times we couldn't get it waitress attention, we waited forever for a to box the hostess finally got it, and after we waited for the ticket so long we finally went to pick out the shirts and to pay for our meal well apparently after we left the table thinking the ticket was the register our missing waitress put the ticket at the empty table ? the hostess went back to get it. And let me add there was only two other tables occupied at the time, even the waitress remarked how slow it was at that time.
Not impressed with food ir service, Hostess with the pink hair was great though!
