On 3-7-2026, I arrived at Chengdu at approximately 12:55 pm. The restaurant is spotless. It is also beautifully decorated. I was seated immediately and given a menu. Having looked at their menu online o sort of knew what I wanted. Ordered the Dan Dan noodles and Sichuan beef. The Dan Dan noodles were spectacular. Ground meat, garlic and what looked like Thai peppers. May have been other spices, too. I put extra chile oil on it as well. The dish was just bursting with flavor I liked the Sichuan beef but it was a little sweet. I thought it would have more of a spicey kick. I added a small dish of chile oil to it which helped. I still was underseasoned heatwise. Slight language barrier but nothing that cannot be overcome my next visit to get some REAL spicy food. 😋
The score was really 4.5 out of 5 stars. Chengdu is the capital of the Sichuan Province in China. Some of the spiciest food on the planet can be found there. The namesake here in Hoover, AL doesn't really have food that is that spicy....to me. No Sichuan peppercorns are used for starters.

I had eaten here when it was a different restaurant and I did like it back then, but it got old and rundown. new restaurant their food was what I had expected. They all have their differences so it’s hard to compare,I would eat here again maybe try something different but I did not have any problems with the food or the service.

Came here cause I was in the area and I heard from others it was really good. A friend said as good as red pearl. It is. Great food with friendlier service actually. I will be back next time I’m in Hoover. If you’ve been looking for high quality Chinese food this is your spot.
Ordered via Uber Eats and was our first time dining here. The cashew chicken was quite tasty, lots of cashews and veggies. Also enjoyed the fried rice and egg rolls. The Lo Mein left a little to be desired but it was ok.

I ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch through their website. The kid at the door was really rude, but whatever do long as the food is good. Wasn't great. Barley any beef, 95% onions. Rice was decent. But half way through I found a piece of metal in it. Will not be going back.
