I stopped in this morning and got 2.5 dozen donuts, plus a couple just for me. I was impressed, as I pulled up there is plenty of parking, walking in the door I was impressed with the lay out, how clean and organized the location is. They have roll up garage doors for warmer weather, custom HERO t-shirts and hats for purchase that were really cool. I travel for work and try to stay away from chain donuts due to poor quality, and they are usually just thawed, hard and taste like cardboard. I love local places, HERO checked all the boxes. I loved how creative they are with the fall-Halloween themed donuts. I had a pumpkin spice, and WOW was it good. It had a cream cheese frosting inside that reminded me of my mom's pumpkin log roll...but better. Service was quick, and polite. My customer loved the donuts, creativity, and packaging. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to AL, and stopping in at HERO for a fresh, delicious breakfast treat!

Dirty dining room with stacked up plates on garbage cans and tables needed wiping down. I could understand if it were busy but there were more staff than patrons. Food is good but not worth the wait. Better experiences are available nearby.

Do NOT eat at this location. The tables were covered in gunk when I arrived & there were stacks of plates on the trash cans as well as dirty silverware. The staff clearly did not care about cleaning after each customer & did not serve us food for ~30 minutes while it just sat there in the kitchen window. If I could give the service negative stars, I would. The owners & management really need to step up their game. Incredibly disappointed.

Too slow in the morning, I waited about 40 minutes for two sandwiches to go and two donuts, and they still messed up the order. I was too hungry and in a rush to bother with correcting them. The food is good but I'm not bothering with a cold meal again for that price and wait time.

Fresh cooked food is a rarity it seems in restaurants today. Yes, it takes longer but if you want fast food go get some mediocre food. Also it is priced at prices going along with the quality and care the plate gets. I have been in the food business for over 50 years and the inflationary prices are killing operations. So understand that the operators are not making that much mark up with labor and food cost the way it is. Hero has good food and great service.
Kid-friendliness: Donuts, enough said.

Ordered a half dozen donuts. The bread pudding was hands down the best in my opinion. Not too sweet and great flavor.

Love this place. Great food, coffee and the Doughnuts oh lord ??. They have some wicked cocktails and ask about the secret menu.

Hero is good. This location is a disaster. Missing ingredients and don’t tell you they just bring it out without them. Takes 45 minutes to get your order. Won’t be back to this one- go to homewood instead.

GO HERE FOR DINNER! Best burger I’ve had in ages. All sauces seem to be homemade. Ranch is loaded with fresh dill, they have fresh squeezed orange juice. Fast service. Seriously…don’t sleep on the best food in Trace Crossings.
Kid-friendliness: Kids cleaned their plate. Not a single “eat your dinner” reminder was required.

Great place to eat. Decided to stop by during a baseball weather delay. Donuts are great. Ordered a raspberry jam, Boston Cream, & chocolate donut with sprinkles. Really wanted to order the keylime pie donut but held off. Definitely would stop by again to try their milk shake.

We have been to this location here in Hoover twice. Each time our meal came out quickly and was excellent. We have ordered the cheese bun with a folded egg and one with the fried egg. We prefer the folded egg rather than the fried version and it is even better with sausage on it. The donuts have been great and fresh. We will be back to try something from the lunch menu.
