My teen son went in for his birthday with a party of six. Being young he was not aware of automatic add of an 18% tip on parties of six. So when he got the bill he tipped 20%. So he even tipped on their tip. They could have noticed this and let him know they already had the tip. We won't be back at this place again.

Took a group of 8 Wednesday night for dinner. Early Friday morning, 7 of the 8 had fevers, diarrhea, muscle aches, and vomiting. It’s a shame, but avoid at all costs.

We got to Stix between 1-2pm. We were seating immediately and other patrons arrived shortly after. Our soup and salad was quickly brought out and so did the cook. We all enjoyed the show😁.

Waited 30 minutes for a grill, finally got one. Waited 30 minutes for our order to get taken, waited 15 more minutes for drinks. Waited 30 more minutes and never got out sushi or appetizers and the chef hadn't come out yet. DO NOT GO HERE, ITS BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've EVER HAD. WILL NOT EVER RECOMMEND.

Hostess service was extremely slow. So I was worried the rest of the experience would be bad too.
Once you get seated at the Hibachi grill everything was phenomenal!!
The Chicken and Scallops were perfectly cooked and the fried rice was second to none! Best rice I've ever had. Portion sizes were impressive. I haven't stopped craving Stix since I went. Definitely planning multiple trips back. Best restaurant in Hoover in my opinion

I haven't been here in a couple years. We sat on the restaurant side and ordered from the menu. The waitress wasn't friendly but she did her job well. The food came out quickly it was hot and fresh and delicious. The appetizers were hot and good. No complaints.

To say the experience was lackluster would be an understatement. Ordered the Thai coconut curry and what I received was yellow indian curry. Fiance got fried rice where the beef was undercooked and took ages for service to check in with us. Honestly this was a spur of the moment decision and will likely have us staying away and keeping to the Styx near home. Very disappointed.

I could not believe how far the great have fallen we came at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. There was no hostess to see us after waiting for 10 minutes or so we got seated at the sushi bar.. we got the sushi menu and it was astonishing that there was no two piece sushi listed on the menu at all and we were told just to order what they had without any reference prices or availability. When we got our order and the rolls were bland at best and had a very thin sliver of fish on the sushi roll. The absolute best part of the meal was the sashimi which was amazingly thick and massive and well worth the price offered, which is the only reason for the two stars

I grew up eating here on a regular basis. My favorite thing to get was the hot and sour soup. The past few times I have gotten it, has been disgusting. I don't ever leave bad reviews- but I don't know what recipe is being used now.... it's not the same. It's awful. It used to be delicious and the flavor was unmatched. I was always willing to make the nearly 1.5hr drive. Not anymore- it tastes awful and like you're drinking straight white pepper or something, that's all you taste now. The old recipe needs to come back and do away with whatever this verison is. It's not "Stix" quality at all or worth the money.
