We certainly made the right choice for lunch today. We both craved seafood, so we came to the Fish Market Restaurant & Oyster Bar in Hoover. I highly recommend it. My yellow fin tuna steak was delicious as was the salmon my wife ordered . The Greek slaw that she ordered as a side was also delicious. It's made with a Greek salad dressing (vinegar based) and feta. Real good. And, the food is affordable. We are for $20 plus tip. We will return, and when we do, we will ask for our waitress, Precious. She provided excellent service and knowledgeably answered every question.

I was really disappointed in this place. My son had the fish and chips and the fish had absolutely zero seasoning, it was so bland. He didnāt even want to finish it or take home leftovers though he was a starving teenager when we arrived. I ordered a Shrimp and fried green tomato Poboy. The shrimp were small and hard, everything was tasteless except for the sauce that came with it. My son also said that his tea tasted funky, I had water, but I tasted his tea and it did have an old taste to it. Definitely will not go back. The waiter was attentive, he even took my plate before I was done with it, but I wasnāt enjoying it so it didnāt matter that much.

Was my first visit, but definitely won't be my last. The food was fantastic, as was the service as well. I feasted on the blackened, large seafood platter with Red Snapper, along with a bowl of gumbo and a dozen oysters on the half shell. Enjoyed the gumbo so much I even bought a bucket of it to take with me to enjoy the next day. I give this place my highest recommendation, especially if you love well prepared seafood.

This is my favorite Fish Market Restaurant in Birmingham. The food is much more seasoned, they have a better wine selection, as far as the brand of wines, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The wait staff is amazing too, AND they're open on Sundays. I prefer this one, hands down.

This place? Whew. Worth every single dime (and I mean every dime, HA! budget accordingly š ). The food is fresh, flavorful, and cooked with love. The string beans? Seasoned like somebodyās grandma was in the back. The rice? Fluffy and delicious. The whole fish? Top tier. Popcorn shrimp? Dangerously good. And the hush puppies? Honestly tasted like someone deep-fried Thanksgiving dressing balls and I mean that in the best way possible.
Heads up: there's a bit of a wait, but thatās just the price of freshness. Nothing sits under a heat lamp here.
Iāll definitely be back... once my wallet recovers. š
