It's counter service with decent menu that changes what is available daily with good food, large servings, and good prices. A good break from Mexican or fast food, the only other choices for lunch.

Little hole in the wall mom and pop place (inside the subway/gas station). Food was hot, fresh and tasted amazing. The guys working were friendly and customer service was great. We couldn’t figure out why people were eating Subway when they could be heating fresh homemade food. Will definable this a regular stop on the way home to Atlanta.

I’ve been coming to Mudears Kitchen for lunch for the past few months, and every time I leave full and satisfied. Today, I stopped by for breakfast for the first time—and it just confirmed everything I already felt about this place. I love it here. The food is consistently top-tier. Seasoned right, cooked fresh, always hot, and always made with care. It honestly reminds me of home-cooked meals I grew up on. That kind of comfort is rare to find when eating out.
But what really separates Mudears from everywhere else in Montgomery is the service. It’s truly exceptional. Every single staff member I’ve encountered has been friendly, welcoming, and genuinely caring. They make you like you’re not just another customer. And in a city where great customer service normally a miss, Mudears gets it right every single time.
The prices are a little on the higher side, but honestly, I don’t mind paying it. The food is worth it, the portions are generous, and the service is unmatched. It’s one of the few places I don’t even hesitate to come back to again and again.
If you’re looking for a place that feeds your stomach and your soul, this is it.
Tucked inside the Exxon station just off of I65 is Mudears Kitchen...reviews said they have great fried chicken, my husband agreed! I had the shrimp and 2 sides. Quick, friendly service, great food!

I had the fried chicken, mac-n-cheese, and cornbread. Yummy! Note: Mudear's is co-located with a Subway. Line for Muldears. No line at Subway. That says it all!
