Amazing authentic food! A true gem in Jacksonville.

The restaurant does not provide table service, which is fine with us. I ordered a taco plate with carne asada, shrimp, and al pastor tacos, rice, and beans. Others in my group ordered empanadas (small), a quesadilla, guacamole, and a burrito. The tortillas seem freshly made. I’d make them a little thinner so that they cook more thoroughly. The shrimp taco was great, carne asada—didn’t love the sauce and would have preferred a more traditional salsa verde, and al pastor was just not great, especially having expected something more similar to Mexico City’s “trompos.” The pork, rice, and beans were heavily salted, so I wasn’t able to finish some of that. The atmosphere is very informal and welcoming, and I imagine that it would be a great place to have lunch on the patio (we were there for dinner on a colder night, so the open door made the restaurant cold). I really appreciate the effort to provide an opportunity for more authentic Mexican food. I hope to visit again in the future and hopefully find just a few improvements.

I have been eating here for 3 years and I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a bad experience. Their customer service is amazing. I’ve tried almost everything on their menu and they never disappoint.
My first visit to Heirloom was today. It was the best authentic Mexican food I've had around here. Everyone loved everything we ordered. The service was beyond excellent. Definitely our new go to place!

The tacos were good. The rice and beans tasted under cooked and lacked flavor. It took 20 minutes to get our food and it was so hot inside the building. It was an insane cost for 2 people to eat there. It was mediocre and for that price I can go to a nicer, cooler, and faster sit down restaurant.

Found this gem and glad we did. Great selection, friendly and fast service, and can’t stop thinking and talking about the food. Not sure when we’ll be back in Jacksonville, AL but this is a Must Visit!! Do yourself a favor and go!!!

One of the few places that no matter what I try from there, it's an A+. Everything on the menu, including new or seasonal items are always better than just "good".
Excellent handmade tortillas, both corn and flour. Lots of options for vegetarians. I ordered the fresh squeezed lemonade, a garbanzo/chickpea taco and sweet potato taco. Both were delicious. And they serve Valentina’s hot sauce (the best!) I’ll be coming back!!
