One Visit Was More Than Enough – Disappointing Experience at The Barn (7/12/25)
Our visit to The Barn on July 12, 2025, will be our first and last. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place is far from what most would consider a proper restaurant.
Let’s start with the sign on the door stating a $3 credit card fee – misleading at best. When we paid, we were actually charged $3.65. It may not seem like a huge difference, but it’s the principle. If you're going to charge extra, at least be honest about it.
We ordered the shrimp and asked how many came with the dish. The waitress told us “about 18,” but what we received wouldn’t even cover a single slice of white bread. At best, there were 9 shrimp – far from what was promised.
Service was another low point. No drink refills were offered, and we had to go to the bar ourselves to pay because the check was never brought to the table. The waitress seemed far more engaged with the group drinking at the bar than with any of the dining customers.
Based on our experience, there is absolutely no way I would take a family with kids to this place. Between the inattentive service, the bar-centric atmosphere, and the lackluster food, it’s just not a family-friendly environment.
Overall, the food was underwhelming, the service was poor, and the experience felt more like a rough truck stop than a restaurant. Save your time and money – we certainly won’t be back.

Tonight, May 3rd, 2025. Where do I start. Me, my wife, and a good friend decided to give this place a try after reading rave reviews. Our friend received her food after about 20 minutes. Not the best. My wife received her food after about 30 minutes. My order never left the kitchen. After waiting until my wife and our friend finished their food, mine had still not arrived. Oh yes, I got apologies from the waitress but never got my food. So I told her to just cancel my order and I’d pay for the others. Needless to say, The Barn 5.0 should stick to music, karaoke, and alcohol.

Traveling through Jasper saw quite a few cars there must be a decent place to eat. Waitress was fantastic, told me if I didn’t like my steak she would cook me another one. Steak and Baked potato was very good. Prices were fair service was fast and friendly.

The best barbecue sandwich I have had in years. The TVs that I could see were off. Had to look out the front windows that was dirty.
We ordered 3 different meals a 2 different appetizers. The worst mistake we ever made! This is the worst food I have tried in a long time. It's really expensive for absolutely NO reason. Extreme wait time for the food, and still just plain awful. Fried pickles are like rubber. Cheese sticks aren't even melted. The stuffed potato is tiny. The hamburger steak was just completely flavorless. Don't waste you time or money at this place.

Never got my food but waited 45 minutes went to pay for the drinks we did receive 7.75 but with 10.00 minimum plus a 3.00 fee for using a card do not recommend and will not return.
