The worst experience. 18$ steak that was so thin and over cooked I couldn't eat it. They took it off the bill so for 3 pieces of cat fish, 2 horderves and 2 drinks we paid 57$! When you say "salad bar" you think green peppers, shredded carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers...well, not here lol my salad was lettuce, cheese and ranch dressing. I wasn't going to write a review but the more I think about it the more I think people need to be warned! The whole place is an experience in hole in the wall dinning that would make a cockroach run. It's dingy and looks dirty. I don't know who's running this place but I will be surprised if it's not gone by summer....it's that bad.

Our service was probably the worst service I've ever been provided, not one drink refill, didn't get the desert with the new years meal, the portions are tiny, it all tasted bland, nobody checked on us, waited thirty for a bill that I didn't receive and had to walk to the front to pay and for them to retrieve my bill. Me and my wife didn't get check on one time. I will never be back and I will make sure anyone who asks me about this place knows how awful it was. They should be ashamed of the service they provided. Do better.

Food was tasty and served hit. The brought out the food as it was cooked instead of waiting for everyone's to be ready. This made sure everyone had hit food. The salad bar was very enjoyable. There server took our orders promptly and kept our drinks filled. We will try this local restaurant again.

My first thoughts, after sitting down.... "This place isn't real clean." My table was dirty. The tables around me were still dirty. It just sort of seamed like a sad place inside. There was a little dog barking the whole time, in like an adjoining gift store. The food was ok and probably fairly priced. I just kept thinking how dirty the stuff must be back in the back that prepared my food, if the public area is that unkept.
This restaraunt could possibly be a main town staple... I think it could just use some TLC and some motivated folks to clean it up and re-present it as a more inviting, healthier, family eating environment. The location is convenient.

I love hometown feel restaurants. This is definitely that. They have amazing flavor for the steaks yum which is what brought me here on this visit. Not disappointed at all. Great customer! I would add a pic of the food but... it's gone. 😆
We had driven by Smokey Hollow Restaurant several times and had been wanting to stop in and try it. This past weekend, we finally got our chance—and it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with an overwhelming welcome, making us feel right at home, even though we were from another town. They took their time with us, patiently explaining the menu and making us feel like valued guests.
I decided on the country fried steak with a side of fried green tomatoes, and it was the perfect choice. The steak was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, with a crispy coating that had just the right amount of crunch. The fried green tomatoes were a delightful addition—crispy on the outside, tangy and fresh on the inside, and seasoned to perfection.
We also happened to visit on a Friday night and were treated to an unexpected bonus: karaoke night! The atmosphere was lively and fun, with everyone in the room joining in and having a great time. It felt like a big, friendly gathering, where even newcomers like us were encouraged to participate and enjoy the festivities.
If you're looking for a spot that's more than just great food—somewhere that's fun, welcoming, and a bit out of the ordinary—then Smokey Hollow Restaurant is a must-visit. We highly recommend it and can't wait to return!
It’s an old restaurant off the interstate that looks closed when you first arrive. No one was there and except my husband and I. The service was great and the food was wonderful. My husband had the fried pork chops w/ mashed potatoes & gravy, corn on the cob, and green beans. The pork chops were huge and he said the corn on the cob and green beans were seasoned well. I had the chicken livers and added grilled shrimp w/ hush puppies ( I know weird combo but that’s what I wanted and they just did it). Chicken livers were great they were not over cooked and burnt to a hard lump. They were like my moms. The grilled shrimp were blackened and the hush puppies were good. We also had their fried green tomatoes. Really good food highly recommend.
