Was heading to Biggies but couldn't find it and just pulled into her instead. Loved it. It's a great little mom and pop restaurant, good food fair prices. Would come again if I'm ever in the area.

I ate from the buffet. I had fried chicken, boiled okra, broccoli casserole, yeast roll, and peach cobbler. I could have had baked chicken, meatloaf, Brussel sprouts, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread. The buffet is all you can eat. My husband tried the brussel sprouts, macaroni and cheese, and the cornbread. He also had the fried chicken and broccoli casserole. Everything we ate was very well prepared and tasty. The service is also very good and friendly.

And if I never try another thing (which I actually have once) then believe me when I tell you, it's the finest whole catfish meal you can get. The fries are crinkle cut and piping hot. The hush puppies are fluffy and crispy, and the slaw is creamy delicious. You cannot beat the price either. As of August 2024, the one piece whole catfish meal is $11. You should see the buffet! I'll be back very soon. I travel to the area just to go to Merl's. Y'all get down here!
Parking: Parking can be tight in their parking lot, but I you want Merl's bad enough, you'll park across the street. Short walk.
We were going back home to Georgia and saw this diner on Google and decided to try it out. The food was delicious and sometimes the one off the beaten path is great! If you are traveling in this area look them up. Very friendly staff.
