Hidden gem 💎 right down the road from Bucky's!!! Most authentic Mexican I've had this side of the mississippi river! Yall check this place out. It's a hole in the wall and I wish I knew about it when I had to travel to leeds for work all the time a few years ago. AMAZING AMAZING food

If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, look no further!
I had the taco trio- steak, chicken and carnitas, my husband got the tamales, soup and street corn, I had the hibiscus water, my husband had the mango…then for dessert we had the ice cream popsicles; he had pistachio and I had strawberries n cream and I tried a little bit of everything on the salsa bar and it was all delicious. All I can say is WOW. It is better than we imagined.
I hardly ever leave reviews, but Juanita definitely deserved a shoutout! Everyone was so kind and helpful.
When we pass back through Leeds, Alabama next time, we will definitely be back.

I wish I could rank them higher. They just need to get better and this place has so much potential. The food is amazing. The service however lacks so much. The service is incredibly slow so be prepared to wait minimum 45 minutes to even get food. Sometimes they give you chips and salsa for appetizers sometimes they don’t. The server never asks if you would like a refill. The drinks don’t even have lids so it’s a pain if you would like to take it on the road back. The food is okay small portions. Overpriced. The elote was hard when we ordered it. The rice was lukewarm. The only thing they have going for themselves are the house made tortillas. During the summer, it’s also incredibly hot inside and they refuse to turn on the AC.

Delicious and authentic food. Very friendly and helpful staff. They also have a large selection of Mexican candies. In the summer, they have amazing popsicles. A true hidden jewel.

Flavors of Mexican culture are available locally without a Passport! We're so thankful to discover La Juanita Taqueria; have quickly made this stop a favorite. Will take the challenge to try more of the menu, but the faves are too alluring. Authentic runs throughout; the food, atmosphere, condiments bar, pan pantry, etc. make a visit more like a tourist's delight. Looking forward to next meal there. Photos are of Burrito Campechano, Carnitas, Tejas Fajitas, Carne Asada, and Chicken Fajitas.

So lucky we randomly decided to stop here to have some food on our way up north! The food is AMAZING!! I grew up in Mexico and I often miss the authentic sazón of home cooked meals lacking in many of the so called “Mexican restaurants” I’ve tried… so I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem! I had the tacos de tripa and they are as authentic as they can get! So were the port tamales! So yummy! And they did not skimp out on the meat like many places do!… the rice and beans brought back childhood memories! They were delicious… definitely worth stopping here if you find yourself in the area. I had the pleasure of talking with the owner, Ms Yesenia… who made our visit even more pleasurable

Ms Yesenia and ms Letty… thank you for the amazing food and nice time.
