Came for the breakfast buffet which is now gone. Wish I had known because, while the food was tasty, the restaurant itself is not very clean and I could have gotten a comparable breakfast closer to home. Some things you can make do with if your belly is full, like how the tables and booths all look twenty years old and feel like they've never been cleaned. I had to get about 4 cups before I found one without grime inside. These things I'd just say, "whatever, at least I'm getting as much as I want." If the buffet was still here but as it is, the warts are not worth the hassle. I'll probably never come back after today because again, I came here for a buffet, I can buy just as good, if not better food closer to my house.

My mom offered to buy me lunch at Lanie's. 1st, we gave them our order & told them it was to-go. We ordered fried chicken, a breast on each dinner. I was told that if the breast were small, they would put a wing in there also. & they said that if we get a thigh, they'll give us a leg also. Well, we got a small thigh & a boney wing. After I asked where our breast was at, she said they didn't have any breast left. But no one told us that they were out & if we would rather have something else. Then, they brought our plates to the table, on regular plates. I told her that the ticket had "to-go" on it. It took her 25mins to put our food in to-go boxes. Then, I watched a woman clean a table & save the little containers of tartar sauce for other customers. Then, after my mom & I got back to her house to eat our food, the butter beans were way too salty. They were awful. My mom added stuff to her beans to try to help em not taste so salty. But it didn't help. I called Lanie's 6 times but no answer. So I stopped eating my other food & I carried all 3 containers of butter beans back to their restaurant. An employee, Idk her name, (she was young & she had a tan) told me that they had already put all their sides up & they wouldn't replace them. She started yelling at me & she told me that no other customer had complained about their beans. I was very nice to her. I told her that I couldn't help it. I told her that everyone has different taste buds but they were very salty. She started yelling at me & she called me a f--king b---h. She called me a b---h twice & used the f word 3-4 times & ordered me out of Lanie's restaurant. I've NEVER been treated SO ugly at any restaurant or store. We will NEVER go back to Lanie's again.

Time to shut this hole down. Buffet is gone. Staff is minimal. Building is condemned with no AC. Everything on the table like salt and ketchup have not been cleaned since 1979- all sticky and nasty. Plates are overpriced. Soda machine doesn’t have nozzles. Eggs are undercooked so much that the egg white is still clear goopy drip. Grits are crusty. Toast does not come buttered. Asked for butter and was given 2 small packs for 7 people. They water down the syrup so much that the kids don’t even like it. Really ridiculous. You should be compensated to risk eating here.

We had heard good things about Laney's over the years but had never gone before. We went for breakfast today and was really disappointed. We were expecting to get the buffet but decided against it when we saw it. Everything was overcooked and dry looking. The hash browns and meats were very dark and burnt. I opted for pancakes and bacon instead. The pancakes were good enough but the bacon was overcooked. It's possible they just got it off of the buffet. The other dish ordered was the special of biscuit and gravy with tots. The biscuit was hard as a rock and the tots were hard and not edible. We will definitely not be back. What a waste of $23. ?

I called in for breakfast a few days in a row after surgery (needed someone else to do the cooking). Each time the food was hot, ready, and affordable compared to some other breakfast places. The food is exactly what I want and think of when I think breakfast.
