Rusty’s is a great place to visit if you’re at Barber and need a good lunch, or a relaxing spot for dinner. Plenty of motorsports memorabilia and any BBQ comfort food you could want.
I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries and fried okra. I was surprised that the okra seems to be breaded in house and not pre breaded. That was a big plus for me.
My wife got the rib tips basket with a side of mac and cheese which she enjoyed. I really don’t know many places that serve rib tips which I wish more did.
There is a case full of different pies and desserts to pick from and the building overall has a very friendly, family feel to it. As we were eating the cooks kept popping out for refills of sweet tea and someone (maybe the owner or manager) circulated around making sure everyone had what they needed and their food was good. I think it would be hard to not have a good experience here. The only downside I could see is I’m sure when it’s busy seating fills up quickly, but they also had 4-5 tables outside as an option.
Give them a try

Great little barbecue joint. The staff were all super friendly, including the owner himself. They explained all the dishes and made recommendations for us. Our only complaint was that the jalapeño cornbread was a little dry (great flavor though!) Try the peanut butter pie, it's ridonkulous. 😆

Delicious food. Hamburgers steak with onions and gravy was great. Loved the mashed potatoes and spicy baked beans.

The food was good. The dining booths could use some updating.

I had the hamburger steak with mac & cheese and collard greens for lunch. I had enough left over to take some home. They were all excellent!

How is this place getting good reviews? The barbeque is dry as a bone, and the sides are canned or microwaved. It has to be the fact that there aren't many decent BBQ joints in Leeds.
Great folks

This is one of those barbecue joints that just need to be on a list. Great food, great atmosphere and the Servers were sweet and attended. The chicken fell off the bone. There were several sauces on the table to choose from. Including a white smoked chicken sauce that was perfect. I’ll be back. I ate all my food before I could take a photo of it.

I guess it depends on what you order but I judge a bbq restaurant on brisket. I was in the area today and had little time but I stopped by. I ordered the brisket plate with potato salad and fries to go. Right at $25 with drink plus $5 tip. They did not make it to go so I had to wait longer. The fries were the only thing good. The brisket was very dry and bland, the potato salad was the absolute worst I've ever had, gross. My dogs did enjoy the rest though. I don't leave negative reviews often but this was a terrible experience.
Real barbecue cooked with real wood. Traveled an hour to try it out and will do the trip again.
