We (my husband and I) travel a lot! We were actually on our way home from vacation and stopped for the night in Livingston, Alabama. Didn't look like much & finding good food looked less than promising but we happened upon this gem. The food was amazing and the staff was a joy. Not sure if I'll ever be through there again but if I do I'll make an effort to try more of their delicious food and hospitality. Thanks for being there!
We dined at Diamond Jim’s Friday night, June 13 and I had the traditional Ribeye, medium cooked. It’s was delicious as always and very nice portion of meat with not too much marbling. Highly recommend
Waited over an hour and 15 minutes just to get a steak that was too salty. The sides were not great. Didn't get refills on the drinks. They made me another steak, but I had to wait again.
Steak was one of the best I’ve ever ate! Nice place! Great service
Excellent gem we found! Great service, perfect food!
My cousin & I ate here in lastnight. While my steak was a 10/10 on taste, the service from the waitress was the worst experience I’ve ever had. We drove from Tuscaloosa and arrived at 9:00. The establishment closed at 930. I called before hand to make sure it would be okay to arrive at this time. We ordered cheese sticks as an appetizer. When they came we asked for ranch she said it was out at first then comes back to the table and told us this was the last two as if to not ask for more. Mind you my cousin was sitting watching them prepare ranch cups behind us. When we ordered our meals my cousin asked what else was popular beside the steak and she told us rudely “nothing” then turns around 2/3 minutes later saying how she loves and orders the chicken bites for her self every other night. I ordered the King diamond steak and wanted a loaded baked potato and a salad with my order. The waitress asked what dressing I wanted then right after said they were done making salad and then I told her if they could just give me lettuce and cheese I would be okay with that as we drove from Tuscaloosa and really wanted salad. Like really how hard is it to get a salad?? What if I had ordered that for my entree? She tells me no. So I had to order two baked potatoes. I asked for them loaded and she brought me out two potatoes with only sour cream. I asked her why they were plain and she said they were done doing them and were out of the rest of the toppings. I said I can’t at least have cheese? She goes and quickly grabs a cup with cheese but only brought one and slams it down on the table. How was it out and you grabbed it that quick. My cousin asked to order cake and she said we had to order it at the front counter. & if she was so ready to go she was not reading our table because she was too busy playing with her friend. We sat 10 mins after being done with our food. She didn’t come to the table so I finally called out to her so we could get a to go box. When we got to the front counter and asked for cake the lady at the register asked us why we didn’t get it at the table and when we told her why the waitress tells to the front “I thought you wanted a whole cake” why would we want a whole cake at the table??? Furthermore she never asked if we wanted just a slice or whole. She never refilled our drinks and just had a nasty rude attitude. Not trying to pull the race card, but it seems as if that was her problem. Another lady sat behind my cousin on the wall and stared at us the entire time rudely. I understand we came 30 mins before closing but if they did not want to service us that late (even though we called) they should have turned us away instead of taking our money for poor service. This was my first visit & the steak tasted excellent, but It is so sad how we were treated. I spent $61 and my cousin spent $40. Waitress was blonde, slim, young (25-35) and the one staring at us the entire time older blonde long hair. The two ladies at the front counter were nice however. Needless to say I did NOT leave a tip. Horrible!!!
Every single meal that I’ve ever had at Diamond Jim’s and Mrs. Donna’s has been fantastic. The staff is always very friendly and the food is always worth the wait. I always consider other options but those steaks are so good that I always order the ribeye.
Best steak ever! I'm from the Baton Rouge area but travel a good bit. I never miss an opportunity to stop and eat at Diamond Jim's. It is now hard to enjoy a steak anywhere else.
Went there for my birthday dinner. My steak was overcooked, they gave my daughter the incorrect steak and then when we sent it back we were told “it’s the same price why don’t you go with this. We might be able to cook you what you ordered. They charged us soda prices for our drinks. $90 wasted after tip. Terrible restaurant
