Can't get much "Southern" as this.
Superb Southern cuisine.
YUM! Found this place when searching for soul food, was not disappointed! Everything is cooked to order but is well worth the wait. Try the caramel cake too!

Anyone that leaves a bad review on a place that makes food this good deserves a beating in the parking lot.

We traveled from Washington State to visit family in Madison for 4 days. A authentic soul food experience was a must before traveling back home. We googled E & N, realized the location was just minutes away and decided this was our soul food location. I called and spoke with Nathaniel before arriving. He said the food would be cooked when we arrived, not before, it had to be fresh & hot. Nathaniel delivered on his promise. We ordered catfish, hush puppies, red beans and rice, baked beans, potato salad, & cornbread. Man o man what a spread. This was by far the best soul food I’ve ever eaten. Large portions & all the condiments are included. Nathaniel we will see you next year when we visit. Thanks for the southern hospitality & warm smile - and group picture to treasure the memories. Keep it up brother!

Outstanding establishment, the owner Nathaniel is awesome!
There's something about E&N Restaurant that just feels like home. Recently, while I was recovering from COVID, their food not only comforted me but I believe it helped in my healing. It's hard to describe just how much that meant to me during such a tough time. On my last visit, I had the most delightful meal. The fried chicken wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside—just perfect. The sides were a treat too: creamy yams, hearty greens, and sweet corn, each dish more comforting than the last. But the highlight was definitely the smothered pork chops over rice. Prepared to order, they were rich, flavorful, and so satisfying, exactly what I needed.
The atmosphere at E&N is always welcoming, from the servers to the cooks. Everyone makes you feel part of a community. I try to go every Sunday. If you need a place that feeds your body and your soul, E&N Restaurant is that spot. It’s a little oasis of joy and comfort, especially when you need it the most.

This is a hidden soul food gem. Just keep going down Zierdt Rd and you will find it just about where you lose service (haha)
It's a small little yellow shack. Super friendly owner (I assume). He's very kind and helpful if you have any questions with the menu. He recommended calling in the next time we go because it takes a little while (it was just him and another guy) but that also means you know it's being made fresh.
Both me and my partner got the 2 meat combo plate. Both with fries pork chop and shrimp. I got the collard greens (amazing collard greens!) and slaw and they got the baked beans and fries green tomatoes. They said both were amazing! Both meat options were awesome. Can't wait to come back and try some more food. Definitely a hidden soul food gem in Huntsville! If you are in the area, you have to give them a try!
Parking: Small parking lot but also next to a church for parking. There weren't really many people there when we got there so I'm not sure if the parking lot fills up or not.

Some of the best southern food we’ve had in a while!!! My fried green tomatoes were perfect!! Not a fancy place…just the opposite! You feel like you’re eating with family! Each order is cooked to order, so not a fast food option. But def worth the wait!!
I had catfish, shrimp, fried green tomatoes. With amazing red beans & rice. The other plate was a perfectly cooked fried pork chop, Mac n cheese and candied yams!!! The hot water corn bread as well as the hush puppies.
Pecan pie was the dessert!
So glad we found this hidden gem!!

Why do women (such as Allison) have to constantly work in "my husband" as if it validates her. AND, stop with the "spot on" to describe food. She heard it said and thinks it makes her ssoooo trendy.

Loved everything about this place. Service is great. People are super nice. Food is wonderful. I had the oxtail in gravy, and it was stunning. Fried green tomatoes are among the best I’ve ever had. Hush puppies are great. Loved it.
