Really good Japanese food. The sushi is great, the lunch prices are reasonable, and do yourself a favor to stop and enjoy the landscaping. Both the koi pond out front and the dining garden out back are simply gorgeous!
From lunch to dinner; the tray lunches to the sushi dinners with bowls of soups are awesome. Always satisfying after eating the good food and a smile from “queen bee”
This is the only authentic Japanese food I’ve had in north alabama other than Mikawa. This restaurant is top notch. I hope they reopen soon!
I love their sushi. I get it on my lunch break at least once per week. I fondly reminisce about this particular sushi roll every day and wonder when I will be able to eat it again. It will be a day of celebration indeed.
Been here since 2008, never fails to disappoint. Best waitresses! One thing people don't know about is the traditional tables that they have in the back. You take off your shoes and head right on in. Underneath the table there is space to put your legs so don't worry about kneeling.
By far the best Japanese cuisine in North Alabama. My only complaint is that the bathrooms don’t have a changing table, but that’s just minor. All of the staff are very friendly. Sushi is AMAZING! Best chicken teriyaki in town (in my opinion). This place has NOT ONCE disappointed me. I can’t wait until they open back up so my husband and I can enjoy some delicious Japanese food!
It was recommended by a Korean cook
The staff was very friendly and attentive. They were knowledgeable of the menu and very prompt with drinks. I thought the food was sub par however. The flavors weren't as bold or distinct as I expected. Perhaps if you have a delicate palate this would be a good Japanese option. I am undecided if I will go back to try other selections.
Great sushi! I haven't tried their other foods on their menu, but I'm sure it's just as great! Awesome service and staff! ??
If I could leave 0 stars I would..Server was very angry to serve us with our children. We waited 10 minutes for our drinks. took over 30 minutes to get our refill and food. When she brought the refill, she only brought one. Then she left. took another 10 minutes to get her attention. She asked us what drink we needed, which we responded she only brought us one drink to the table. she rolled her eyes. Our server was so slow and so rude. we didn't get another refill. I couldn't even ask for more food because she never came. We waited another 30 minutes for our check, and finally we asked another worker to please get our server. They sent a lady over who tried to tell us she was busy with other tables. We did get our check, and we paid and left. I felt like such a burden on this server. I probably won't ever go back due to MaElena. (servers name)

Edo has great service and great sushi but the overall quality of food has dropped. The bento box has been dropped from the menu where you could pick various entrees and have several sides. Now they have a chef's choice box. I picked the pork katsu bowl expecting a crispy coating and got a moist coating on the pork cutlet. My wife had the tempura but said the batter was different from previous visits. I also had the shrimp tempura but the shrimp was definitaly smaller than usual. The yellowtail tuna roll was very good.
It’s a beautiful restaurant with cozy places to sit and relax, however the wait staff (excluding one very quiet and sweet girl) and experience I had was very uncomfortable. When entering the establishment we were greeted and asked twice how many were to be seated and where. After walking to our table we were asked to stand and wait while it was cleaned. Once seated we waited for at least 10 minutes to be asked what we would like to drink, and after our drinks arrived minutes later we were asked if we were ready to order at which point we stated we needed a few more minutes. While waiting we observed a waitress giving out her number (and then politely being told the man had a girlfriend), and then saw no wait staff for quite some time. Finally after about 15-20 minutes we were asked if we were ready and needed our drinks refreshed at which point we did and asked for water. Even the water took at least five minutes and when it arrived there was food floating in the bottom of the cup. When asked if we could get more water the waitress (yes, I get it was a joke) said “No, you have to drink it, that’s all we have.” At which point we politely laughed it off and she took the glass. When she returned she stated she didn’t change the water out, she just dipped her full hand in the glass and pulled the food out. Again nervous laughter and then we asked for napkins and her reply was “Ugh, seriously. I’ll get them, but I just want you to know I’m going to spit in them”. Our food arrived sparsely and at some time during our dining the same waitress audibly voiced her desire to climax. As we were walking out to pay the girl was explaining how hot a table of guys was and then began to make jokes about the food in our water again. I enjoyed the sushi, but this experience alone has made me never want to return.
One of our favorite lunch restaurants. I especially love the surprise of the daily “lunchbox” which is my favorite. Great environment and warm friendly service. Highly recommend you give it a try for your next lunch date.
Edo is so good! I meant to take pics of their sushi but got excited when it showed up and forgot all about the pics!
