The food looked good but was cold.

I got the eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit and gravy. My son got a makeshift sausage McMuffin. My daughter ordered the waffle with bacon and eggs. Unfortunately it just wasn't great. It was very, very basic food without any type of seasoning. I'm used to Southern cooking with a lot of favor. It was over $40 for our food which I think is very expensive for breakfast. We were in there for I think about 45 minutes to an hour and someone came to our table a total of three times including taking our order and the payment. Workers were nice though just not really attentive.

This placed was once great. This year there has been almost a complete change in staff and they are not nice people. The way the female manager speaks to staff in front of customers is abhorrent. It is very uncomfortable for the customer. When a table has an issue she speaks with them then turns around and rolls her eyes and starts talking about the customer. She should be ashamed. It’s a shame the old staff left. They were part of the reason my family continued to come here. My daughter loved the Mickey Mouse pancakes, but I will learn to make them at home.

I'm a Dasher and also a secret shopper. This is one of the worst places to pick up food. It's always late when I'm picking up. Staff is not customer friendly when coming in to pick up.

Breakfast was very disappointing! Multiple dishes and coffee served cold. Returned coffee and was still charged. We will not return to this establishment.

I usually order the shrimp and grits, but today it was not as good. No sausage and very bland compared to previous visits. Not sure why they changed it, but i won't be ordering it again. I do love the grilled toast they serve with it. It's delicious!

Today my wife and I went to enjoy brunch at Egg up and was very disappointed. The home fries came out cold, asked for a fresh order of home fries and supervisor heated up old fries and the cold fries was better. Service was poor. Food was not fresh, overall bad experience. Our server never came back to refill our water not once , or even ask how the food was, we had to on multiple occasions get her attention through other servers for things we needed. And to top it off my change was incorrect and when I asked for correct change another server proceeded to roll eyes at me from a distance. We were overall disappointed today.

UPDATE : We went back with our adult kids on Sunday, January 19th. Our food came out cold. Every one of them. It was disappointing. I would like to make a suggestion for the owners. I know it might cause additional issues, but it would be great if you could serve the meals as they come off the grill.

Original post: Easily one of the best breakfast spots in Madison! I had the southern bowl and my wife had “The Classic” and I had the southern bowl. Both were cooked exactly the way we ordered. Both were delicious! Tristin, our server was fast and attentive.

Our experience at this restaurant was beyond frustrating this morning. My husband and I arrived and were told to sit wherever we’d like. As we sat, a couple of a different ethnicity found a table to sit at after we were sitting. I got my son settled and since no one had come to the table I ran to the car to grab something. As I walked out, a server went to the couple and gave them menus. When walking out a man of the same race as the couple came in. Upon my return, to my surprise no one had come to our table to bring menus as they had served the couple as well as the guy and we were there before both. It was as we were invisible. My husband and I decided to take our business elsewhere. When leaving no one even seemed concerned about our business. This was highly disappointing as we have the same dollars as the others. So disheartening in the year of 2024!! I do not recommend this restaurant and they will never get my business. I urge others to do the same.

Sunday at 1130. Was busy, but just a short wait to be seated. Server was right there, and our food was out quickly. But it was a letdown at that point. Nothing was hot. Indeed waffles & eggs were cold. Surprisingly adding onions and peppers to the potatoes were an extra $1 - each. Add in a $3 dollar soft drink. A nice place but disappointed considering the food wasn't warm and the add-on prices.

It was my first time dining here. I have been waiting for Athens to open and did not know that either place had opened yet. I ordered the Texas Farmhouse Omelet with grits and sourdough toast. Food came out timely and fresh. Unknowingly to me, the, I guess, the owner was sitting at the bar with me. His critical eye saw that the toast was not toasted to his specifications. He said something to me about getting more toast. I told him that I was good with the lightly toasted that I received but thanked him. The food was good, and I appreciate ensuring that my food was to the restaurants expectations. I was happy with my experience and hope to be back.

First visit was a 5 and brought us back. 2nd visit not so good. Maybe 1. Late morning stood around a used vacant table for 5 minutes while other tables were being wiped down. Never greeted. Finally just left. Very inattentive.

First time there. Food was good but pancakes were not hot (in between room temp/luke warm) it was so crowded (Sunday after church) we didn’t want to request fresh pancakes because the rest of our food would’ve been cold.
