First time eating at this location, and was a bit disappointed. The General Tso's chicken was okay, but not as good as other places. The Honey chicken was similar, but more like sweet and sour chicken. I asked about the cream cheese-filled wontons as a dessert and was pointed to the crab rangoon. Uncertain, I asked if they had crab and was told they didn't...but there was distinctly some type of seafood (imitation crab?) in them. The hot and sour soup wasn't that good, but adding a bit of rice vinegar, pepper flakes, and soy sauce helped it greatly. Two complaints about the soup though...there were some strips that I think may have been bamboo strips that were so hard they couldn't/shouldn't really be eaten...and the second was in the soup (or the fried wonton strips added to the soup) I found a piece of metal that appears to be about a 1+ inch strip that maybe came from a can opened by a can opener. Thankfully I detected it immediately and didn't actually swallow it. While I realize accidents can happen, something like that could have been extremely dangerous to have swallowed. I don't think we'll be returning.

We got the hibachi chicken. If you’re expecting hibachi, you’ll probably be disappointed. But if you think of it as bourbon chicken, you’ll be pleased.
Lots of food for a decent price.

I have seen a lot of bad reviews about this place, and I wholeheartedly disagree. The food and service were spectacular, and the portion sizes are massive at a reasonable price. I come here regularly, and I believe that this is the best Hibachi restaurant in Madison.

Ordered takeout after coming home from a long trip.
Food was hot, ready on time, and delicious. The portions were huge! My wife and I split an order and the kids split one as well. We had plenty of leftovers for all. We will definitely go back to try more. Crab rangoon are yummy too!

Big portions. The fried rice was okay. The General Tso chicken was very good. We'll be back.
Our visit started by seeing a cockroach right after we paid. $50 for two meals. Food was very cheap tasting. Incredibly disappointing.

Very nice food at a great price.
Been to this one and the one in Huntsville near Parkway. Saw a review on TikTok that wasn’t great so I had to try it myself. It’s not bad. Ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi with white rice and both places.
The biggest difference would be, the hibachi express on Balch has a little less teriyaki sauce. Other than that, the chicken was cooked a seasoned well, teriyaki sauce tasted fine, sweeter than what you fine at some fancy Japanese spot. Vegetables were a little soggy here at the balch spot but wasn’t spoiled. Would preferred if they were more pan seared.
Very comparable to mall teriyaki food but with bigger portions and a little better taste. My only gripe would be the price. More expensive than you’d expect. But overall, will come back.
Great place to eat. Food is good every time and ready quick
Very clean

When I think of Hibachi, this is the place I think about. Good food and it is affordable. They offer a lunch menu between 1030-3pm.
