Just tried the breakfast casserole and it was really good! Just a hint of sweetness was perfect.
My wife and I have enjoyed Main Street Cafe for many years however, realized it has been quite a while since we have been there. We stopped by today for a late lunch / early dinner and had a wonderful time. The food was top notch, and Betty took great care of us. We would also like to thank Tammy and John Hall for the special voucher offer this week to launch their extended hours and menu. Well done!!! We will be back for certain.

Hubby had the Cheesy Meatloaf. I had the Georgia Chicken. Both dishes were served bordering on cold. The hot peach sauce was anything but hot. The food tasted very good and had it been served hot, would have given it 5 stars. The place was busy and loud.

I have gone here since I was little. Food has always been amazing, and it's such a nice place to meet up with friends for a nice lunch. They were the first place we thought of for catering for our Christmas. I felt absolutely awful because my brain was two days behind for when it was supposed to be, and then I got a call that it was supposed to be today. I felt mortified, and it was completely my fault. I hate wasting people's time and put a huge effort into not doing it to workers. I forgot the young girl's name, but she handled it with grace and waited on me. I made sure to tip 40% for her time. Thank y'all so much for your consistency with yummy food and your customer service.

I ordered the chicken salad plate and was amazed by the generous serving of homemade chicken salad. The pea salad, frozen artic fruit salad, and pumpkin bread were all exceptional and full of flavor. The portions were very satisfying, making it a truly delightful and hearty meal.

We celebrated my wife's birthday last night. There were 55 of us and everyone had a wonderful time. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere awesome and the service exemplary. Sincere thanks to Cynthia, Kristin, Mae and Justin for making this an event to fondly remember. Y'all are great!
Main Street Cafe in downtown Madison is set in the old City Hall next to the railroad. The train went by while we were dining. It was cool to watch the train from the windows.
They have a lunch menu and daily specials. I chose the chicken and dumplings from daily special. They had ran out at 11:45 after opening at 11:00 AM. It must be really popular and looked great at another table.
We had the five cheese ravioli with a side salad and the Georgia chicken. The Georgia Chicken was delicious. The chicken had hot peach sauce and pecans and came with green beans and mashed potatoes, as well as a homemade roll.
The ravioli was good but not as good as the Georgia chicken.
The service was okay and the food arrived quickly after ordering.

I had the lunch Ribeye Steak and 2 Sides was a great price. However, the hashbrown casserole and green beans were not seasoned at all. The chicken salad is Amazing! I recommend giving them a visit 😁. Our waiter was very attentive and can't recall the young man's name but he's an Auburn fan I do remember that. So, am I😄. Entering the main entrance was chaotic too many people waiting to be seated. We arrived just before the crowd, so no wait.

I came here for the 1st time on a girls lunch. We arrived a little before 11:30. By the time we got there, there was already a good little crowd but we were seated pretty quickly. After looking over the menu our waiter came to take our order. I wanted to try the seafood quiche unfortunately they were already out. They were out of the other items i wanted to try, so I settled for the seafood salad. I was already disappointed that they didn't have anything i wanted but when they brought that seafood salad I was beyond disappointed. I thought when I saw salad it meant lettuce of some sort this was a freaking PASTA salad. It didn't taste bad but I definitely didn't think that's what I had ordered.I also had the broccoli salad & some onion rings. None of the things I ordered tasted bad but I would have never put those things together as a meal especially one that I had to pay for but these were the only things I saw that I thought would be ok to try and that were available. I guess this place just wasn't my cup of tea.

Nice local place, decent food at reasonable prices.
Location is in older Madison City building.
If you're lucky you might be able to sit in the old jail cell for lunch.

A friend of mine invites me to eat lunch with her at Main Street Cafe on Thursday, November 6th, 2025. The restaurant is so adorable 😍 It's interesting that the train comes right behind the building. That was a little unnerving. Lol. Anyway, the food was delicious 😋We ordered mozzarella sticks and corn nuggets as our appetizers. The mozzarella sticks were okay, but I was looking for a dynamic cheese pull when I take a bite. The marinara sauce tasted good with the cheese sticks. The corn nuggets were so delicious. My mom used to make them when I was a kid. That first bite took me back to my childhood. My friend and I ordered The Chicken Dressing with Gravy, Green beans, and a roll for our main course. The roll was so soft and delicious. The green beans could have used a little more seasoning but the meal was good. The food was affordable because the meal was only $15.00. I will be back again and when I do, I plan to order some corn nuggets!

First visit. Likely won't return. Calamari was a bit overcooked. Rice dish was likely several days old. The server even said the rice shouldn't have been served. Pork chop was okay.
