Great little restaurant in a unique building with an interesting history. Staff are very friendly. Wait times for a table and your food after you order can be long when they are really busy. Reservations are encouraged if you can plan ahead.

Try the poulet and if you get a salad the ranch dressing may be the best you'll ever have.

Experience was great our server was very personable and offer enjoyable conversation. The food was great and the prices were even better. I think more restaurants need to look at your business model especially new ones opening up the food was great and this is the first time in a long time that I ate somewhere and did not feel like my wallet was assaulted.

Been coming here for brunch/lunch for years on and off and was delighted when I found out they’re now open for dinner, as well. Good food (we had burger, Cajun seafood plate, and the coconut cloud cake), and lovely staff. The covered patio is very nice, with plenty of fans to keep you cool and the bugs away. Will definitely be back soon.

Food and service were excellent. Parking can be a bit of a problem, but the rest of the service is above most places.

Lovely staff, great food, reasonable prices, historic building. It really is a wonderful place for lunch or dinner. Ample inside and outside seating.

Ordered to go, ready right on time. No mistakes, tasted great, please never change the fries. We love the sidewinders. At lunch it’s always the Poulet de Normandie and pea salad! If you’re visiting Madison, this is one of the most delicious, and definitely the most historic, restaurant in town!

Waiters very personable and efficient. Various food choices. Enjoyed the history of the building in the old downtown Madison, AL.

The atmosphere was quaint and the food was absolutely delicious! I had the chicken salad plate with a huge scoop of homemade chicken salad, pea salad, frozen artic fruit salad, and pumpkin bread. All were phenomenal and divine! Large portions too. The mint fruit tea is a must try. It is so delicious and refreshing! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. Really amazing experience! 10/10 Recommend!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Main Street and I was particularly impressed with the service that Justin was able to provide. It was a very busy lunch hour and he was managing several tables, but he checked in with us often and kept our glasses full. Very nice lunch.

Do NOT eat here unless you enjoy convalescent home food! Please don’t respond with how early the cooks come in to open the cans of food you serve. How early the cook comes to work has nothing to do with how good or bad the food is and your food is awful! I’m sure your staff is nice but we should have turned around and walked out when your restaurant only had one other table with customers on a Saturday night!

First time here. It was bustling and cheery. The menu had nice standards, salads, soup, sandwiches, and a surprising selection of entrees and specials, giving anyone plenty to choose from. The portions were large and prices were very reasonable considering this is not the run of the mill everything is pre-made kind of place. Its quaint atmosphere lends to a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Service was excellent. This place is a gem! I'm looking forward to trying it for dinner.

Great Southern comfort food!

I had the Chicken Casserole and Sweet Potato Fries at Main Street Cafe, and both were excellent. The casserole was creamy and flavorful with a crunchy topping—pure comfort food. The sweet potato fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. The historic building adds a lot of charm, and the service is friendly. I’ll definitely be back!
