Old Mexico Cantina Reviews
Stopped in on Memorial Day to pick up a cheese dip and chips. Was charged $15.80 for a small container that was not filled up. A small bag of chips. And a 2 oz container of salsa. I absolutely love supporting local restaurants but this one, we will not frequent again.
We just moved into Madison and was excited about being close to a Mexican restaurant. We’ve been there twice and sat at the bar. The atmosphere is nice but the service was not good at all. The first time we went we had bad service, we just wrote it off as an off night. The second time was even worse so we decided we wouldn’t be back. It seemed like the bartender had an attitude or something. Maybe we just had two bad nights…who knows.
Awesome staff, awesome food, favorite Mexican restaurant in town!

Old Mexico Cantina offers great food and a pleasant patio for dining. The atmosphere is nice and casual, providing a quiet space with a good crowd. The staff is friendly and attentive, though they seem a little short-staffed lately. While some meals had temperature issues in the past, the generous portions and fast service make it a nice place to visit. The complimentary chips and spicy salsa are appreciated, and many find the food to be good, though it may not have the wow factor it once did.
Guests have enjoyed meals like the street tacos, which some find a little spicy, and the Old Mexico Enchiladas, which have received praise for being delicious. The Fajita Quesadilla has also been a hit, with some guests surprised by how quickly it was finished. Vegetarian options are available, though it is not a vegetarian restaurant. For picky eaters, the kid's menu includes items like chicken fingers, which come in large portions and are considered a better value than those at fast food places. Overall, Old Mexico Cantina remains a great spot for a quick and enjoyable meal.
