Food isn't fresh. Food was over priced and I was the first customer and the food took forever . Very small portion. Will not be back

Food was delicious! My husband is from DR and enjoyed the authentic cuisine, he was so excited we found this place! Our daughters were equally thrilled to have eaten their dinner on a bus, the atmosphere was great!

We tried the platter, and everything was absolutely delicious! The empanadas were amazing too. Additionally, the people were really nice and the service was great. All in all, a memorable experience. We will definitely be going back often

Sheeeeesh. If I'd known how good the food would taste, I'd have made the trek out a lot sooner! This place is a cute little bus deal with lots of comfy, shaded outdoor seating too. They were playing some Caribbean-themed music when I walked up and it sounded great! One awesome thing about this place is the online ordering system! It was fast, easy, descriptive, and pretty user friendly - you can even use Apple Pay. Especially helpful in retrospect since when I got there I realized the workers didn't speak a huge amount of English, and sadly I speak even less Spanish. So I'm super thankful I could order online to ensure I could get what I wanted and experience such delicious food!I placed my order for pickup at 12:15 and they had it bagged and handed to me by 12:17, so can't complain there. Don't forget to grab your canned drink from the mini fridge by the window.I ordered the stewed chicken with rice and pigeon peas and sweet plantains. I also got a beef empanada to try. All of it was great! The weakest link was the empanada, for me - I'm nit picking here, but the beef inside was a little on the sweet side, and combined with the mayo/ketchup dipping sauce, it was just a little over sweet. That being said, I still ate and enjoyed most of it!Everything else...was so freaking good. The stewed chicken absolutely melted off the bone, super savory and tender and just a little fatty. The rice and peas had SO MUCH flavor you could eat and enjoy it on its own; combined with a hunk of chicken, though, and it was sublime. The sweet plantains were soft, very slightly acidic, and of course, sweet! The only thing I'd ask for is perhaps the option to substitute fried plantains as a side instead of sweet ones (currently you have to order them as an additional side). This is, again, a minor nitpick and much more of a wish than a criticism.Overall, absolutely outstanding food! Worth the drive out from Huntsville, absolutely. Give them a try!

Amazing! Our first time here and the food was incredible. We got the plantain chicken sandwich with plantain chips, stewed pork with white rice, black beans and potato salad. The best international food we've had in the Huntsville area! Give it a try; you will not be disappointed! Great job Punta Cana Caribbean Restaurant!

Food is super authentic! Their chicken is some of the best you will have in Alabama. It's fried and seasoned to perfection! I don't get the fries, the plantain is amazing and has just a pinch is salt. They are a small family owned business so it's best to call it in unless you have about 15 mins to spare.

Delicious! Everything I've tried here is very good. You have to try the Fried Plantain Chicken Sandwich. The combo platter with a sample of everything is another go to.

The food is outstanding and on my second visit in one week, I figured out why. Mama's in the kitchen and boy can you taste the LOVE!

Went here on a whim as we were looking for a place to eat that we could bring our puppy. I was jonesing for Caribbean food since it's 90° outside, too (Hello, Summer!). This place looked a little questionable at first as the adjacent building/trailer didn't help the ambiance. We checked out Yelp and saw Avery's raving review earlier in the day. Since it was recent, we thought we'd give it a try. We are soooo glad we did! We first ordered the #36 the sampler. The chicken fell off the bone, the steak and pork were tender and flavorful. The pinto beans in rice were outstanding as were the mashed plantains. We ordered a number 10 next and fried plantains. All of it was delicious! We didn't eat in the bus because our dog was with us and there were plenty of covered places to sit. We can't recommend Punta Cana enough!

Best Caribbean food I've ever had! Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is very flavorful. Dining is inside of an old bus.

First time eating here. Been wanting to stop by for awhile and try it out. I love trying different ethnic foods. My wife and I enjoyed what we ordered. #2 & #4. Plus 2 orange Fantas. Straight up Caribbean food. Loved it. We sat outside with the sun shining, light breeze blowing, trees swaying, Dominican music playing and 2 plates full of food. For a moment, it reminded me of our times in Miami and the Keys. The nice lady that prepared our food was very sweet and smiled a lot. Such a pleasant experience.I recommend this place if you want to try something different and with taste. Will visit again.Mike and Shannon.

Such a cool place to eat! The Mashed Plantain Chicken Sandwich is delicious!! And you can either get it to go or eat inside their bus diner! It was really cold outside, but stepping inside the bus hit me with a sudden warmth it was lovely!
