This was one of my favorite restaurants around Huntsville, and the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to - so sad to see on their Facebook that it’s permanently closed now :(
This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is reasonably priced and it's always delicious. The staff are very nice but the ones I have had in the past were very slow even on nights that weren't crowded. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone at anytime except if they are in a rush.
I hated this place for a long time... The other night we went again as a redemption visit (we are fanatics about Indian food and know it well). The service was a little off, but the food was drastically improved and warned a great rating.
Food and service was incredible! Only thing, was no Indian beer.
I LOVE the lunch buffet at Saffron. The only reason for the loss of 1 star is the inconsistency of every other aspect of the experience. Sometimes they’re closed when they shouldn’t be? And today the server seemed completely spaced out...she was the only server there and people were waiting and waiting for all kinds of things, and she was moving around super slow like she was completely lost. Not a dealbreaker for us, but ODD. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS though, and we won’t let a spaced out server keep us from our fix.?
Really good food and ambience.. nice ppl but it is a long wait for your food to touch ur taste buds..
There was a single customer in the restaurant and it took over 10 minutes to get seated. Waiter would not stop touching his hair at our table. Like compulsively with both hands with full handfuls of his hair. Small cups and rare refills. Food while wasn't necessarily bad was much different than what I'd expect. Except the Naan which was soggy. Don't reccomend
Food was pretty good although chicken not very tender. Curry sauce was excellent and just the right amount of spicy. Prices reasonable. Wine selection ok but limited. Main disappointment was the inexperienced wait staff and slow, inconsistent service even though they were not crowded. Probably won't be back.
The lunch buffet is very good. However you never know if the restaurant is going to be open or not. It is listed as 7 days a week open at 11 during the week and 11:30 on the weekends. However some days it doesn't open and there will be 15 people standing out front lots of money lost. But it is good food it's great food probably the best in the area when they are open.
Worst experience in my life. I waited for about 25 minutes just to order. Food took about an hour to be ready. Food was burned and cold.

The door says lunch is 11-2. I arrived at 1:29. They were already closed. It's a pet peeve of mine when stores and restaurants close before their posted hours. If you close at 1:30, then publish that. I grove 20 minutes to get here. If I knew they closed at 1:30 I wouldn't have come. While I sat typing this another lady came up. It's 1:38. She said, “It's not 2 o'clock. That's disappointing.â€
Awesome food and service! Calming atmosphere
Best Indian in the area for my taste. Really delicious. Service not bad either.
Food was good but when we came in, all but two tables were filled. The server said that they couldn't seat us there because there were no tablecloths on them. Then he said it would be a 20 min wait. He said we could get food to go. We could see that a few families were finishing up, so we stayed. Then another server came and said it would be 30 or 35 min. We only had to wait one minute more before two families got up to leave. Not sure the change of management was a good thing.
Located in a nice area. Easy access.
