My husband and I had dinner at the Moon Lake Kitchen recently while in Mentone for our anniversary and we were both very impressed with the food and the service.
It was a quieter night (they were not busy) and they treated us like royalty. The redfish was perfectly prepared. We loved the Voo Doo Eggrolls. The egg rolls are stuffed with crawfish and andoille, topped with a drizzle of two house-made sauces. My husband said it was the best appetizer he has ever had anywhere!
We tried the beignets for dessert and they were the perfect finishing bite. This Chef is talented and humble. You locals need to support this restaurant! It is a hidden jewel!

Went for a date night on our one year anniversary cabin trip, and could not have chosen a better spot. The food was amazing and our waiter Jackie made us feel like part of her family. Do yourself a favor and try the Boudin Balls if they have them that night, they were the best we've ever had! Very unique and special experience that we will never forget!

We had the Blackened redfish filet, Brabant potatoes and crawfish sauce for dinner. GOAT cheese encrusted fried green tomatoes with blackened shrimp and remoulade and finally for dessert Beignets with pumpkin spice sauce and pumpkin and walnut bread pudding with bourbon cream. I would have given 10 stars if it was an option. Chef's kiss to how delicious EVERYTHING was. Presentation was beautiful also. We highly recommend this place if your in the Mentone, AL area.

Every dish I ordered was full of flavor: salad, chicken fricassee, lemon pudding with blackberry coulis! The portions were generous and beautifully presented. My server was incredibly attentive, friendly, and polite! A gem in Mentone!

Truly a hidden gem in Mentone, Alabama!! We enjoyed a delicious meal from appetizers to entree and desserts. Chef Robie is a gifted cook preparing tasty and beautifully presented dishes. Moon Lake Kitchen is a neat restaurant located in the remodeled former elementary school cafeteria and is surrounded by interesting shops. It has a great lunch menu. This was our first time here, but it definitely will not be our last. Today we tried the redfish tacos, onion rings, The Charles chicken sandwich and the home cut fries. Both the tacos and the sandwich were absolutely delicious and the onion rings were the best we've ever had. The fries remind me of home cooked fries when I was a kid. We also tried the beignets which were excellent. Kudos to Jackie and to the cook for a delicious meal and excellent service. Five Star!!! We look forward to our next visit.

Were planning to go for a 90th Bday lunch but weather cancelled our plans. Instead they kindly allowed us to do take out! The chicken was incredible along with the redfish. Onion rings and fries were fantastic! The staff was so nice and we will definitely be back for dinner!!

8-16-25 The service was great and the food was awesome. The Porkchop with blackberry sorghum sauce was cooked to perfection. The salmon was seared just perfectly. Fried green tomatoes were a hit as an appetizer along with delicious voodoo egg rolls. Would definitely recommend checking our Moonlake kitchen.

It’s within the Mentone Moon Lake School’s campus and you and enter at the colorful fence or park at the school and navigate through the school grounds. We had a late dinner and the food was excellent and the service was wonderful. This is a surprising little place that was upscale at a decent price. The meal was creative and their menu changes to incorporate fresh, seasonal produce or available, quality seafood or meat.
