This restaurant is so cute and fun for adults and kids alike. The food was delicious. We had a delicious pot of Pumpkin Spice tea, Mac and Cheese and two salads. They were so fresh and the dressings were perfect. If you are in Mentone I would suggest you try this restaurant.

The Hatter Cafe was such a nice surprise and wonderful experience when my Boyfriend and I came to Mentone for a quick weekend getaway. We stopped at the gift shop and had a chat with the owner, ordered 2 loaves of their fresh delicious bread, and came back for dinner at the café. It was amazing and the service was top notch! The experience was so wonderful that we came back for breakfast. If you are ever in this neck of the woods, give them a try, you won't regret it!

Popular spot and for good reason. Chloe was one of the most polite and enthusiastic servers we've ever had. The food was amazing and portions are generous. Their full rack of ribs is easily enough for two people. The ambience was eclectic in a good way!

We were recently staying in Mentone for our anniversary. I can’t say enough about this place. The decor, atmosphere is amazing. Every small detail has been thought out. We loved it so much that we ate breakfast here 3 days in a roll. The hash brown casserole was amazing! Service was top notch. The gift shop is unique, awesome baked goods. Can’t wait to return there someday!

This is a neat place . Our favorite dining experience in Mentone . It has a Tea Room motif, but the menu has some unique items. They use local produce , etc if available, It’s not a steak house or a sports bar. It’s the best brunch in Mentone . The servers have southern hospitality and could not be nicer . We happened upon the Hatter by serendipity . The “other” place everyone mentions was packed and had the atmosphere of a Cracker Barrell. Give me the serendipity of the Hatter any day! I have to state the nice 60s & 70s music was great , and the perfect background music . The Hatter ALSO takes reservations ! Given the Hatter a chance if you’re in Mentone . It’s an undiscovered treasure in Mentone . Great menu, great servers , casual and sedate dining . Tea room atmosphere with nice 60s /70s music classics .
The menu is very interesting and different . The meat pie and turnip greens were awesome Wife got French toast . Loved it I would give the Hatter 5 stars for sure

The “other plzce0 is an overated tourist trap with all the charm of a Cracker Barrell off an interstate ramp .You could not drag me to the “wild flowers” with a team of mules!
