My favorite restaurant for a long time now!! Everything I’ve ordered and eaten here has always been fantastic!! My go-tos are always either the Main Street Carbonara or their wings on wing nights!! Amazing food and the staff and atmosphere are right up there with it! As soon as we leave I always can’t wait to go back!

So I am from the Gardendale area & currently live on Highway 280 close to chelsea. My sister lives in calera Alabama and so I surprised her today at her house and wanted to take her lunch and so I Google search things in that area and I thought well she's been everywhere and clearer, I need to take her somewhere special.
That's how we wound up at Main Street tavern.
THIS PLACE IS ALL THE RAGE AND MORE! It was so amazing, I'm telling you they had food from every Walk of Life it seemed like lol. It was an extensive menu, and that was great.
So my sister got a fried bologna sandwich topped with pimento cheese and jalapenos, and sweet potato fries! (Omg it was one of the best I've ever had and I didn't even know those things went together, but it was absolutely amazing!)
I had fried shrimp and french fries! Talk about jumbo!!!
You could have gotten seafood, a fried bologna sandwich, hamburger steak with gravy, steaks.. how many menu offered a little bit of everything and it was large portions too. The food was so amazing it was unbelievable. The atmosphere is undeniably one of the best around. They have bicycles hanging from the ceiling bahaha...
The atmosphere was amazing, I did not know Montebello was that beautiful in that area but it is.
The store was playing the employees were out of this world nice me and my sister had the best time ever, I haven't made the statement to her that if I lived anywhere near that area I would be at that restaurant every single day. You could try something new every single day and not have the same thing twice. It was so amazing
I honestly had one of the best experiences as far as food is concerned that I've ever had before. That was place was amazing and they have lots of options.
We had a server, I cannot remember his name but he was super nice man, he couldn't have been better. The atmosphere is great the store was cleaned the parking lot was cleaning the bathrooms were clean, you couldnt have asked for a better experience!

As self-proclaimed foodies, this is the go-to spot for my husband and me! The food is top-notch.. Everything is made in house and with care. The owner, Jeff, has a spirit of excellence and it’s reflected throughout the establishment. I particularly love the Smashburger, the salads, fish tacos, wraps, boneless wings (lemon pepper), and fried pickles. I know that sounds greedy, but the food is SOO GOOD, lol. Anyways, we love eating here and we pray for continued growth and success~

As we were going to be driving through Montevallo about lunch time, I checked out this restaurant online and we decided to go there. It was not good. Our server was pleasant, but she did not communicate well and was not knowledgeable about what was done at her own restaurant. I wanted to have a meat with some vegetables but preferred the chicken tenders over the fried chicken plate. I asked if it were possible to get the chicken tenders without the french fries and then just add two vegetables. She said that would be possible with just a small upcharge. I also asked her if they breaded and fried their own okra. She said that they did. So I ordered the okra and the macaroni and cheese along with the chicken tenders. What I ended up getting was a chicken tender basket with all the french fries that I did not want. And instead of a lunch portion of vegetables, I got a huge bowl of very bland and tasteless macaroni and cheese and a large basket of greasy fried okra. And they do not bread their own okra. It is brought in frozen and then fried. My husband had the chicken lunch plate with two vegetables. His food was also bland. The gravy for the mashed potatoes was terrible.
What made it worse is the man who said he was the manager came over to ask us how our lunch was. We told him that it was not exactly what we asked for, and that it was not very good. The entire time he was talking to us he had his hands in his pockets and then just kind of shrugged his shoulders and walked on. No offer of doing anything different for us.
So instead of paying for a lunch plate, which would include my chicken tenders and two vegetables, I was charged for an entire chicken tender basket and then $8.00 for two vegetables that were not good. This was not an “small upcharge”. Obviously, if we are in Montevallo again, we will choose a different restaurant.
