I was excited to try Slice after they won an award. We stopped for lunch on a lovely day and sat outside. It was confusing where we were supposed to go, since their name is on two buildings. The server was friendly and very busy, so we seated ourselves and she brought us menus after we had found the menu online.We ordered one basic salad, one margherita pie, and two slices - one pepperoni and one Old School (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and red onions).The salad was fantastic. 5/5, would go back just for the salad.The slices and pizza were OK- 3.5/5 for me. The sauce was very sweet on the margherita and almost nonexistent on the pepperoni or Old School. They use cornmeal on the bottom of the crust, and there was a lot of cornmeal. Given how incredibly thin yet soft the crust was, the amount of cornmeal was detracting to me, both in flavor and texture.I would make a special trip for the salad but not for the pizza.
We stopped by on a night where 3 of the employees called off. We appreciated the up up front warning.This location is interesting due to the set up. We arrived in a building with just tables, it was pretty subdued. We ended up noticing that the actual kitchen, bar and outside seating was out the back door and across the parking lot. We decided to eat outside. The outside seating was nice and had heaters.Service was not prompt, but we had been warned, yet both employees working were friendly and were working hard. Thank you!The Wedge salad was completely covered in a Green Goddess dressing and with the crispy chunks of bacon it was so good. I had the LakeView pizza and it did not disappoint. I think next time I will ask for extra horseradish cream because it was tasty. My husband ordered the Old School and ate all but one slice, he was in heaven.Cocktails- my husband ordered a drink and was happy to find they carried Hendricks.Overall the set up is odd, but the food was delicious. I appreciate that the employees worked hard despite the circumstances.Forgot to get a pic of my pizza before I dived in. ;)green

Stopped by for lunch on the way through town. I'm always up for trying new pizza and I do enjoy being able to order a couple slices. The layout is confusing for a first timer but I think it's cool. Once I figured it where to order I settled on the Pesto slice and a Caesar salad. Salad was fresh and the slice was good. It was not busy so the service was good around 1pm. I will be in town for work so I will try some more.

Food was excellent. The Little Piggy Pizza which was even the waitress' fav was chef's kiss. Service was quick too. I was also pleased to learn they had Guinness. I also like the outdoor seating. I got lucky that it was a fairly warm evening for late January. Overall very impressed and glad my friend recommended this place. I will most definitely be going back!

Slice Montevallo is not the same as Slice off 459. Although same brand the service, location and food are less than the other locations. This location has a decent indoor area to be served but it's not like a typical restaurant. Was clean. The pizza is better than chains. It's just at a premium price you expect a premium experience in food quality and such. Maybe it's just the style to go light on sauce cheese and toppings. Still a nice place to get food from, every so often.
