“An Unforgettable Dining Experience!”

From the moment we walked in, it was clear this restaurant is something special. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between cozy and upscale, with attention to every little detail. The staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive, ensuring we felt cared for from start to finish.

And the food—absolutely phenomenal. Each dish was a masterpiece, from the first bite to the last. The flavors were bold and creative, yet perfectly balanced, showcasing the chef’s incredible talent. The lamb curry and ramen were a standout, and I’ll be dreaming about it until my next visit. Even the cocktails felt like works of art, perfectly complementing the meal.

It’s rare to find a place that excels in food, service, and atmosphere, but this restaurant nails it on all fronts. Whether it’s a special occasion or just a night out, I couldn’t recommend it more. Can’t wait to come back whenever we are in the Bham area.

Vegetarian options: worth the try!

Dietary restrictions: I dont eat pork, and I am picky with my seafood.

Second visit and seated quickly but we sat for over 30 minutes on the outside balcony without a single waiter. No water or service of any kind. Hostess was notified and we were told a waiter would be there. Even after a visit to the bar to get a drink, still no waiter.

Great food and atmosphere killed by no service tonight. A waiter was even informed at the table next to us and he stated , oh sorry, I’ll go inform someone. It never happened and we left.

Do NOT let this review take away from the great food and atmosphere… but tonight was definitely a fail in service.

Since Abhi opened his first sushi counter in that 5 Points sports bar dive, his genius has been on display. Each place he opened seemed to have served only to develop what now shines through in the way he melds a more traditional philosophy with his own unique concept of "cuisine." Go for the sushi, stay for the insanely delicious menu items like Khoa Soi & Thukpa. Or, eat light on some ramen & fill up at the bar. Either way, there is no comparison to what Abhi creates. Not anywhere around here, at least. It's a dining "experience" more than just "dinner out."

Vegetarian options: Abhi's food is rooted in vegetarian ideals & almost everything on the menu is offered this way.

Dietary restrictions: Even with a shellfish allergy at a sushi place, you'll be fine. They are very conscientious when you tell them & the overall hygiene is well above par.

Kid-friendliness: Our kids eat with us at Abhi all the time. I suppose if yours know how to behave, there wouldn't ever be an issue.

Our granddaughter graduated college from UAB, and we wanted to have a celebration with the family to recognize this achievement. She selected this restaurant, and we all loved it! The food, the drinks, and our server, Andrew, were awesome! There were so many choices! What a fun night!!

What a phenomenal Asian (as well as as others) fusion eatry! They have a lot to choose from. Parking (plenty of spaces), however, can be tough due to their location in town, plus popularity...so get there early. All the staff is super courteous! A++++. I live in Southern Maryland and actually by shear luck stopped here on travel through the region. Now the wife and I are actually intending to plan our next trip down south so we can swing in again. Wish I had taking more pictures...but was overwhelmed by the selections, perfect timing and superb staff.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

My first time I got the Mississippi Summer mixed drink and then the Curry noodle bowl with the pickled veggies and Northern Thai curry. That Curry no doubt is some of the best Curry Ive ever had. The drink is sweet not too sweet and has nice floral and citrus notes. I sat at the bar and talked with a bartender who in graduate school for neuroscience. She is super kind, friendly, and social. All around the vibes are good. The staff is friendly and chill, as well prompt and focused on serving.

2/12 update: in response to the owner’s comments, please note that I left a message at around noon the day of the dinner and called right after they opened at 5 to update the headcount on the reservation.Used to really enjoy dining here, but our most recent experience was a disappointment. We had made a reservation for 10, but I had to adjust the reservation and make it for 7 since we had a several cancellations the day of.When we arrived, we were seated a GIANT awkward high-top triangular table with an entire empty row due to the cancellations. We had guests travel in from out of town and it was near impossible to have a conversation due to the scale of the table. If you had the unfortunate luck of sitting next to the empty row, then you were essentially left out of any socializing. We noticed a regular table clear out and we politely asked our server if we could change our table and he was very understanding. Then the manager came to our table and told us that we would have to remain and that the table we wanted was for walk-ins.I was left stunned and if folks hadn’t traveled in from Huntsville to dine with us, I would have personally left.To add insult to injury, the food wasn’t as good as I remembered it and there was a $25 cake fee. We easily spent over $300 and it was such a let-down. We took the cake home and enjoyed ourselves by finally having the conversations we so desired. In the spirit of being fair, our server was polite, the atmosphere was pleasant, but honestly when a fair request is categorically denied, even the positives don’t make up for the disappointment the manager made us feel.

I used to go to their store at The Pizitz Food Hall for lunch. They always have good food.

Vegetarian options: You can get some of the dishes without meat or with tofu as an option.

This hidden gem nestled away in Mountain Brook hit every check on the list. The atmosphere, service, drinks and food is unmatched. Abhi has the best sushi and MoMo's in the city....no the State! I can't wait to try their other dishes, they smelled amazing coming out! I will definitely be back!
