Four of us ate here today on the recommendation of my nephew. It was outstanding. All of us had a quesadilla, steak and BBQ. All were excellent. The cheese dip was also excellent. I could have made a meal of that! Service could not been better. Best Mexican food I have had in Birmingham.

Yep, that’s a dead bug in my taco. And when I brought it to the manager’s attention he blamed it on “the drivers they have delivering for UberEats.” No remorse, no apology, no taking responsibility, no assistance offered to make up for it..The worst part is I have been a loyal customer for years and truly can’t bring myself to eat here again. I’m disgusted by the situation but even more disgusted by the way it was handled.——Update - I was able to get in touch with Ellen who worked hard to improve the situation and apologized on behalf of her staff. I’m still hesitant to try again, but appreciated her effort to improve the customer service.

I have been coming to La Paz for 20 years and have even been in business with you for the past 4 years, and tonight was the end of my relationship with your restaurant. I placed an order to-go for my family and while we were eating, we found an entire dead bug inside a soft taco. When we called to make you aware of the situation, the manager who answered not only didn’t take responsibility or apologize, but blamed it on the fact that the order was delivered. The bug was dead inside the food. Thankfully we saw it before it was eaten but I guess I really can’t know how many bugs I’ve ingested at La Paz over the years. I will not be taking any chances in the future. I couldn’t be more disappointed in a restaurant I’ve loyally patronized for two decades, have turned countless people onto and where I have spent a lot of money. You don’t have to refund me, I wouldn’t use it anyway. I guess we will see if customers make the distinction between restaurant food and delivery food. Restaurants make mistakes, I understand that, but you chose to blame someone else and that’s inexcusable. I wish I could go back and spend my time and money somewhere else. I hope you’re half as ashamed as you should be, but I doubt it.

!!!!!!! RUDE MANAGER !!!!!!My daughters food was terrible and she only took one bite, when my wife asked a manger if we could change the meal for something else, he told us there was nothing he could do AND we still had to pay for it !!The intent was not to get a free meal, I just wanted my daughter to enjoy her meal.I’ve never experienced anything like this at a restaurant!!!!I’m very disappointed in the way this was handled.!!!!!!!!!!!!!RUDE AND DISMISSIVE !!!!!!!!!!I usually enjoy this restaurant. My wife and I have been patrons for 14yrs. But today’s experience was extremely lackluster. I am mostly disappointed in the manager . The culture is changing .

We loved working with Jill to plan our wedding catering. The delicious taco bar was the perfect addition to our big day. The presentation and taste got so many compliments. 10/10 would recommend!!

Walked in at 2:00pm on a Saturday afternoon and stood at the front hostess desk for about 20 minutes. Finally, walked around to the bar and saw three employees behind the bar watching college football on the tv. Asked one of the guys behind the bar if I was supposed to seat myself and he rolled his eyes and barked “give us a minute.” Sorry Buddy—you already wasted 20 minutes of MY TIME waiting for someone to do their job. I’m sure the food was good—but I’ll never know…ever!
