The people are very nice, friendly and accommodating. The margaritas seemed watered down, and I didn't see an option for a regular margarita. Instead, they have half a dozen margarita varieties, but I suppose their "perfect margarita" might be a regular margarita, but it is disappointing. The food is pretty good. Our party of three left saying to ourselves that we probably would not return. We were there at 7:30 on a Friday night, and there were very few customers. I would like to see them be great, but that is not the case.
Great service and food. Neat atmosphere. Extensive tequila menu. The tapas were great as were the guacamole and queso we had. Recommend
Food is excellent, atmosphere and service are terrific!! Highly recommend. Ask for Thomas as your server.
Great restaurant for any occasion - date night, family night, moms night out etc. The food is fantastic and authentic. The ambiance and service are perfect.
Great drinks and food. We ordered the lemon tres leches cake, churros, and the banana crepas were all amazing!!
This is the BEST restaurant in Birmingham ! Hands down !

The food would have been fine at a lower price point. But it was nothing special. Seven shrimp $19. 1!2 cup of Grits with about 5 ounces of well done tenderloin $22. I have no problem paying that for such small portions but those small portions should pack a punch. The atmosphere is great and our service was prompt. There were four of us and nobody was unhappy - but nobody would return,
Was so disappointed to have spent $10 on to-go cheese dip only for the container to be half-full and the bag of chips to be one quarter of the way full. (And for $16 beef flautas to taste and look like Walmart's frozen ones. I like Walmart's frozen ones don't get me wrong, the price just threw me off.)
Not impressed. Food was below average from my experience. Entree came out cold, drinks were neat shots of tequila and one was less quantity than the other, fish portion was ridiculously small. Too noisy to have a conversation. Really quite surprised at how disappointed we were.
Absolutely love it here!! Jorge and his team out do themselves. Check out their Sabana Mexicana and pair with the SyL margarita :)

This is Ann’s son: The queso was so good even my grandma enjoyed it!
Sol Y Luna never disappoints disappoint us. We have gone for over 30 years at both locations. Food has something for everyone. Spicey, mild. no meat and a great wine lists. Arrived shortly after opening and sat immediately. Servers very friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. Will be back soon. June 2025 CMB
We had an excellent experience -the guac and queso were good and served with a variety of chips depending on which you get. The Snapper entree was to die for. Big pieces of meat and several shrimp. Pretty spicy and garlicky but you dip bread into broth that evens the kick. Big enough for four with a couple tapas to share. Our friend loved the salmon and mashed potatoes.
The chorizo queso is divine so was the beef tenderloin and of course the spicy marg was yum
