The restaurant was closed. Open Table confirmed my reservation when they should have declined the reservation and let me know the business was closed. I'm very disappointed in Open Table. Will not use again!
I do not take joy in leaving poor reviews. However, when management is so poor and obviously disingenuous, I feel like other folks should know before coming here. There was a catered party in the back of the restaurant however, bar service was inly available at the bar in the main dining room. There were people bumping into us, our table, and our food. We asked to move tables, and received no help from wait staff in moving. Our order took an extremely long time, coupled by yelling from the large party, standing by the bar, blocking the walkway and restaurant entrance. I wish I had just gotten up and left. When I expressed our experience to our waitress, the manager returned with Hornitos, cheapest tequila shots possible, for our table. We did not drink these. Nothing else but, “sorry, there's a big party” was offered. I would never come here again and wish I hadn't spend as much time as I did here. I hope to never experience such poor management again.
We always enjoy the warm atmosphere, excellent service and Fabulous food and tequila cocktails. We had the Snapper dish with shrimp and it was divine !! Must have churros as well to end the perfect meal!! This is by far one of THE BEST restaurants in Birmingham.. highly recommend!!!
We enjoyed the tapas and botanas. Everything was delicious! Looking forward to visiting again soon.
Always a pleasure at Sol Y Luna. Staff is courteous, kind and very knowledgeable. We always appreciate suggestions with dinner.
Unique Hispanic restaurant with an eclectic menu. Soup was disappointing (served at room temperature) , but entrees were solid. What in the heck is that Mountain Brook extra tax on alcohol?
The food was disappointing. Don't mind paying for great food but this was not great. The appetizers were great but the entrees were not.
We had an excellent time! The service was phenomenal! The food was delicious and the drinks were giving! I will be returning.

The people are very nice, friendly and accommodating. The margaritas seemed watered down, and I didn't see an option for a regular margarita. Instead, they have half a dozen margarita varieties, but I suppose their "perfect margarita" might be a regular margarita, but it is disappointing. The food is pretty good. Our party of three left saying to ourselves that we probably would not return. We were there at 7:30 on a Friday night, and there were very few customers. I would like to see them be great, but that is not the case.
Great service and food. Neat atmosphere. Extensive tequila menu. The tapas were great as were the guacamole and queso we had. Recommend
Really great, authentic mex. Owner/servers excellent. Ejoyed it. Better than others in town.
