I dined in and honestly thought of my future review on here as I did so I did a little extra "digging in" to things I might not normally have noticed just in the area I could see while dining. The light fixtures, chairs, tables, floor were all clean, and no noted light bulbs were needing replaced. No noted dust on the light fixtures. The vent return cover (think that's what its called) was very minimally dusty. The food was great and the portion sizing seemed generous to me. I ate alone following an out of town appointment. Now that I have found this place, it's hard for me try another since finding it at my last appointment. I work in healthcare, so I suppose I notice infection control practices in restaurants a little more than I wish I did for my sanity. I have never observed an issue here. In case you have never been here, you order at the register, but they bring you food and then they clean the tables after you are finished. (You don't have to dump trays or anything). You don't really have table service though, unless you realize you need something else at that initial food drop off time. Polite staff, but I did feel a little hurried to make my decision on ordering, although there wasn't a line. I paid a little more for lunch there than I could do on the daily, I received back just loose change from $19 for just me. The atmosphere is pleasant and calming. I was just behind a fairly large group of apparent local exterminators (according to their labels on their clotging) and I was impressed that I didn't heart 1 single grumbling regarding anything with their order out of a fairly large group for barely lunchtime.
Accidentally spilled my chips on the floor. immediately kicked out. I was the only customer in the whole store and i had put my purse on the floor and they started yelling at me to not leave my “trash” on the floor. Then when i got my food, there was many hairs inside and what looked like maggots in my sandwhich. After i asked for a new meal because there was maggots in mine, they kicked me out. The blonde fat lady at the front with a bob needs to be fired asap!

We just ran in for a SUPER quick meal just 13 minutes before closing for our first meal. We had to make a quick run to Birmingham to pick up an item that was only in stock at a location here. We ordered the grilled chicken special and it was FANTASTIC and super clean. The service was friendly and George was very kind to us even though we walked in at closing. Guess what? We sat down, were served, ate, and was GONE by 8:57. George told us thank you and we told HIM that we will be back. We also plan to visit the location in Cullman soon. WONDERFUL and CLEAN food. The little orange roll was the perfect yin to our "yang".

Visiting Alabama for work and catering lunch for a clinic of mine. Staff prepared food quickly and early upon request while I dined in. Best Greek salad I’ve had in a long time. Great atmosphere, very friendly, fresh food.

I finally tried the hamburger today it's fairly new on their menu and it was fantastic, it was cooked after I ordered it and didn't take long at all! Really excellent quality beef! I'll definitely be ordering this
We always get flavorful, fresh food at Urban Cookhouse. The local mix salad with grilled shrimp is a favorite of ours, along with the grilled veggie quesadilla. We've never had a sandwich disappoint us either! Great food, friendly servers, casual atmosphere.

I sent a message to corporate. I am requesting to speak with the owner of this Urban Cookhouse. I placed an order for the first time and decided to cancel it. I contacted the store and was greeted with nasty, disrespect and yelling by someone who claimed to be a GM. I asked him to provide the owners name he refused, asked to have the owner contact me; he refused and he refused to return my money. I even asked for clearer directions to potentially come to the store and he refused. I refuse to eat food from an establishment were the “GM” has the right to speak to me as if I am his subordinate.I have contacted this store through the Urban Cookhouse website and still have not received my refund from Neil Patel. Neil I want my refund, I called in a timely manner to cancel and your manager degraded and disrespected me. I a believing you condone this type of behavior because you have not apologized nor refunded my money.

I was expecting a sit-down type experience, so when I walked through the door, I was a bit disappointed and my expectations dropped. I was pleasantly surprised when they brought my salad out and I saw the quality of the ingredients and the care that went into the presentation. It was a great tasting salad and I will definitely eat here again. It’s a great option for when you want quality food but are short on time and need it fast.
