Heard about how good this place was. We drove over an hour to get there before 6. We were told they had multiple parties and some were larger than expected. Were seated a little after 7 and served lukewarm food a little after 8. Taste was ok and certain it would have been excellent if served to us when food was done. If you have 3 hours with nothing to do then the interior is rustic and interesting. We were never asked how we liked food or if everything was okay. I guess they knew better.
Parking: It's good luck finding a place

Slow slow service, food quality was not what it has been. My steak was half fat. Dirty tables everywhere for the entire time.

This is the last time going to Bullpen. The first time it was good. But the last two times has been pretty bad. I had grilled catfish and it came out burned. I tried to eat a it. But just couldn’t. My son ordered the 14oz ribeye tough and chewy with grissle. The service is good and the atmosphere is homey. Not going back.

They were super busy and had ran out of a few things. But, they handled it like a champ and it was as good as always. I did miss my ribeye steak, but the sirloin was still good.

Well after driving a hour to get there we put our name on the list then set in the waiting area at the front door for a hour & half with the wait staff walking back & forth past us not saying a word, you could see multiple empty tables through the doorway. A lady come out & informed us they were out of steaks, sweet potatoes & a few other items. Pretty sad, needless to say us & about 3 other couples walked out disgusted a couple of them had waited longer then we had.

I really enjoy trying the local places. Cute place but is in a huge need of a cleaning and renovating some things. The food was ok. Had worse but have had better. Our waitress was nice, my booth seat was torn/ducted taped and hard as rock, the steak didn't have much flavor at all, the baked potato was hard (not cooked good) and the croutons on my salad were so hard that I thought I was going to break a tooth. Maybe will have better experience next time if I go back.
Great food, but be prepared to wait. They're open on Fridays and Saturdays, 5-9pm, only. So, 15 minutes after the doors open, you're in for a 45 minute wait. Now, if you don't mind waiting for a good meal, hang in there.Steaks are great. Hard to beat in a local steakhouse. I recommend the cajun seasoning on them. My wife loves the grilled shrimp.Wait staff is usually running ragged, so understand they're short handed, it seems. My advice to the restaurant is close the drive through. Service people tgat wait 45 minutes for a table, first. Give those patrons priority. Let drive through people come to the counter and get their to go order, but serve those waiting forever first. The one time I left without food was because the drive through got it, and I'd already waited two hours. This weekend, I witnessed a customer getting up to leave when their food arrived, finally. That's a lost customer, I'm certain and he was from Oak Grove.

1.5 hr wait after being seated, but hey they r only open 2 days aweek and are packed. Fried mushrooms were good baked potatoes was good and wait staff was good. However the 14 oz ribeye was 7 oz of meat and 7 oz of fat and tendon. Also no seasoning or flavor, but it was cooked perfectly med rare. Deff NOT worth the 28 dollar price. Neat kitschy place to visit once but I won't be going back.
Service was great. Steaks were great. Great old atmosphere. We'll be going back soon.
