This is the best of all the El Patrón restaurants in the area and the best Mexican food restaurant we've been to in Alabama. The atmosphere is authentic. The food is top-notch and has outstanding flavor. I am a sucker for great Carne Asada, and this is the best. Their margaritas spare nothing too. Try the large mango margarita if you want a wonderful treat. The service is outstanding, very personable, and very friendly. I have a service dog and they even welcomed my dog...
It is a lovely place, in fact it is extra pretty and the servers are very nice, but the food is (in my opinion of course) mediocre. The salsa was subpar, and the fajitas even more subpar. I hate to give a negative review and there are many things to like about this place. Many of the patrons seem to be very happy and satisfied with the food.
When this place took over the previous restaurant, almost everything went downhill. They did get new tables and made it look nicer. The food isn't as good as I would like it to be. It's really loud inside when large groups are in there. It has outdoor seating to enjoy in nice weather.
