The St Clair / The Tavern

Invited friends up to try Tavern at the St Clair. Between us we had the Bang Bang shrimp, smash burger & salads. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be visiting again.

Today was the first time we tried St Clair Tavern and it was delicious! We had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and it was amazing. I had the smoked steak sandwich and James had the fish & chips, both dishes were delicious. Our only regret is that we didn't try this place sooner. We will definitely be back!

We read most of the reviews before eating here. I'm not sure why they were so divergent.

Our waitress, Leah, was excellent. Quickly and accurately took our order and even got us a taste of something we had a question about. Food came out promptly. Our glasses were always full. Leah was 6 stars, for sure.

Food was okay, portions were small prices were higher than the food quality.

Except for the service provided by Leah there was nothing that made us want to come back. However there was nothing bad about our overall experience either...just blah.

Caution....the Tavern charges a credit card fee.

Server was nice but not very attentive. Food was good but was very over priced for what it was. The restaurant itself is very nice, very clean. I will not be back, the reason is for the cost of going here there are far better choices with far better food. Just my opinion.

Ahi tuna salad and Shrimp chimni. Nicely plated and delicious . Classy . Love it . I would rather spent my lunch or dinner here rather then any fast food place. My new favorite . Just look at that ! And it taste good as it looks good too .

This place is cliche. There's nothing that makes it stand out. The food was okay. The service was okay. The atmosphere was okay. It was really kind of expensive, especially for what you got on the whole.

Didn't want the bar tables when we arrived on a Monday night. My sister's birthday. Wanted nice tables with linen tablecloths. We dealt with what we got. Not always in control, right? Seated quickly, fast waitress. Worried she didn't write our orders down. Got mine wrong, but she made it right. She was absent for most of our time there. Never saw her. Got my order/meal wrong. But when the check came, she suddenly made a huge deduction to our bill. No mention of it. But, it corrected a big mistake on my meal.Very appreciated. BROOKE S. was our server. Was a busy Monday night, she was probably overworked.We appreciate her & will come back. Please note that it was Brooke that made us happy.

Blackened salmon is so good. Best fried green tomatoes I've ever had. Raw oysters incredible. Great drinks wonderful staff. Truly one of my favorite places.

Went her last night and had a fantastic experience! Waitstaff is top notch and extremely attentive. Had a wedge salad that was delicious and my husband had mahi over Mushroom risotto and roasted carrots that was out of this world. I had shrimp and grits - a very generous portion and large shrimp. We come to Pell city twice a year for shooting events and we always try to stop here. Well worth it!

Our server was terrific! The atmosphere was nice and quite. The food.....for the price, I wasn't impressed. The salad was a spring mix like out of a bag. The steaks were no better than what you would get at outback or longhorn, and twice as much. Also only one side with the steak. Meatball appetizers were overcooked, and charged us extra for cheese.
Definitely not worth the $140 for two of us.

Ordered lunch for everyone at work yesterday and the taller young man behind the bar is the same who took my order by phone and was knowledgeable about menu items when asked. He has always been kind when we have ordered or dined in in the past, I forget to get his name. I had the blackened chicken Alfredo for lunch and it was phenomenal. So glad they decided to open in Pell City.

Traveling through and really enjoyed our meal and service. Leah was very honest when asked about various dishes. I'm a vegetarian, however she was right on the money when she suggested items. Husband had the fish sandwich and onion rings, thumbs up.We will be back through the area in a couple weeks and will go again. We did sit outside. A bit chilly and on the parking lot, but not bad .
