We (12 ppl) drove from Panama City, FL for the awesome entertainment: Hunter Clark & Heath Sanders = excellent! Our waitress, Lacey was on point, courteous, professional, great, outstanding! The food was superior. Would definitely recommend Shell’s Downtown if your in the Piedmont, AL area!

We got there. Where seated. Served our drinks. Then another waitress came to us and made us move. Because we were at the owners table and they would be there within 30 mins. I thought customers came 1st. Then 10mins later they finally take our food order. What my husband wanted they didn't serve anymore. What I got was half cold. After a 10min wait. They were not busy.

I wish I could rate it but that would require you to be served your food. It looked like a cool place but it took over an hour and a half to get a burger and fries to go. And fries were cold. That was the only part ready on our order so we told them to forget the rest. We ordered two burgers, I would assume they would make them at the same time. They gave us sour cream instead of ranch dressing.
The blind waitress was running in circles doing her best to help us and everyone else because even her coworkers were giving her orders....but she did come back to us and do what she said
The bartender acted like we didn't exist. After I got her attention to ask if this is where we put to go orders in, and she said yes, she never gave us a menu. She ignored us for 20 minutes. We flagged down the blonde waitress who took our order.
The place was busy. There was a local event that they knew about. There was not a line to get in so they were not trying to handle anything that they shouldn't have been able to. They should have been prepared.
Kudos to the blind waitress who was trying!

Too expensive for me but I'm poor. I go once or twice every 6 months or so because the food is out of the world delicious(so it's probably worth the money for most people). Good people with good food.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and we enjoyed it very much. Our waitress/bartender Lacey was very friendly and knowledgeable. The stuffed mushrooms she recommended were the best we've had in a long time. We had the smothered chicken and cowboy sushi, both of which were well-crafted with fresh ingredients and tasted great. Getting to finally see Savannah J perform at The Place Next door was well-worth the drive alone. The headliner Karen Waldrup and her band were absolute pros and her manager was a cool cat. Met the owner David who was very hospitable and "talked shop" with us for a bit. Looking forward to going back for dinner and a show the next time Savannah J plays again. Fabulous venue, go support local businesses and live music!
