I found El Mriachi when it was in Montgomery right off on Ann Street by the interstate years ago. This was about 15 years ago. It was the best and most authentic Mexican food I had ever eaten. We moved out of Montgomery to Autauga county near I-65 & 31 in Pine Level. The wife and I drove past the restaurant and said we need to try the food. We went there a few days later and was happily surprised to see my Hispanic friends from Montgomery were now less than 5 minutes away...
It's amazing. Best Mexican food I've had that tasted fresh as always. Best service and atmosphere. They are closed only on Sundays. Give them a shot you won't be disappointed but you will be full.
Almost got full just off the chips and salsa. We had the queso with jalapeños as well, some of the best I've had. Very fresh. The chicken fajita quesadilla was excellent. Rice and beans were very flavorful, and I didn't have to add salt or pepper.
