I have noticed a hugh change at the Ark in the lack of customer service. The food is very good but the lady running the place now is rude and quite unfriendly. While there last night she dictated where we were going to sit even though the place was 1/2 empty. We did not want to sit by the door where we were assigned when I wanted to move before being seated she quite rudely told me no you WILL sit where I put you. By this time my wife is having a fit that I am embarrassing her so I sat by the door like the owner told me too. Like I said the food was good and I am sure she will not miss my business but she had seen the last of me for quite a while. There used to be a guy running the show that was very customer friendly I don’t know if she bought the place but all I can say is she better keep the food good to offset her crappy attitude. I am sorry but my wife will not tell you what I think about the woman

DANG! Even better!! We haven't been here for about 5 years, as we moved to Florida. We were so lucky to get there today. The BEST catfish and shrimp, yes, shrimp! Always excellent, but today was outstanding. Fried to order, so it is crisp, not greasy. Homemade, delicious coleslaw, new recipe hush puppies (so perfect!) and onion rings. You really should try it. If it's your first visit, you might be wary as it is not fancy, but if you want great food, and friendly service, you will not be disappointed! The interior has been updated under new ownership. The food and service were outstanding!!

Excellent food, great staff and friendly waitress!!!
We went to the Springville location. All they have is fried everything. My husband got the fried catfish, but evidently they cut the fryer off for the evening and then tried to restart it and it didn’t work. The fish was extremely greasy and was not as fried as it should’ve been. I got the Deviled crab and there was no crab to be found. They came out of the freezer. Not good don’t waste your time and money.

Been eating at The Ark for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest childhood memories were coming in with my grandparents on Friday nights. Stopped in yesterday for lunch and while the catfish was as good as always and the service was excellent, we were all disappointed to find that they have changed hushpuppies. I HATE onions and one of the things I always loved about The Ark was that their hushpuppies had no onions. When we sat down yesterday, we immediately ordered a dozen (as we always do) but when we got them they had onion in them. As much as we enjoy eating there, I can get good catfish without driving over an hour to The Ark so the hushpuppies were the main reason we came. I guess we are done unless they go back to the recipe I have eaten for nearly 50 years.

Gotta say, I wasn't expecting much from the place just based on appearances. And then I got my food and had my mind blown away.
Don't expect any spices, don't expect any crazy flavors you've never had before. But the seafood tastes as if they threw it in the fryer as soon as they caught it. Everything was cooked to perfection. I couldn't even find a burnt fry anywhere, I looked.
They definitely take the quality of the food very seriously here and I absolutely loved my experience. Highly recommended for anyone passing through the area.
My husband is a double amputee and he has been sick all week. He wanted a ribeye steak from The Ark. We live about 2 miles from there but when we got there he was sick and weak. I phoned in an order and Candy was so sweet to bring it out to our van. My husband ate about 1/3 of the steak. He hasn’t eaten much this week and I know his stomach has shrunk. I ate one bite and we both agreed it was delicious! If you are hungry for a great grilled steak then you need to visit The Ark!!!!! You will be glad you did. BYW their fried and grilled catfish are delicious as well.
Wheelchair accessibility: It is easy to get in the restaurant and the staff are always so accommodating to move chairs if needed.
Brought salad after my meal. The fries were from a bag and greasy, crispy and almost burned. Fish was good. Shrimp was good. Lemon “ice box” pie was actually lemon meringue. The sever informed me it’s what the box said. Cashier informed me most people loved their fries. I took 2 bites of the pie. Should have at least refunded me for that since they didn’t refund the uneaten salad or nasty fries. All in all - waste of money!

Was my first time trying this place and I was soooo excited to try it. I did an online order for me and my boyfriend. He got catfish and Cajun fries with hush puppies. I got hamburger steak with Cajun fries and mashed potatoes. I absolutely loveee hamburger steak so I was excited to get it and most places have the option of mashed potatoes and macaroni but they did not have macaroni which is okay that’s why I got the fries instead. We get there and they tell us they don’t have any more mashed potatoes and it kinda made me a little irritated but I chose onion rings cause they were out. When I got home and went to eat my food. The fries were slightly cold and they weren’t Cajun fries. Had no seasoning on them at all. I’m very disappointed cause I wanted to try this place. But I definetly do not recommend it.
