The service was amazing, all the staff were very warm and friendly. The place was clean and the food was amazing. I even had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Elaine the mastermind in the kitchen. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good time and good food. Definitely a southern hidden gem.

We celebrated our anniversary at George’s Steak Pit. Our server Sarah was very attentive and helpful with recommendations. My steak filet and my husband’s prime rib was cooked perfectly. I wanted the filet and commented to our server that I really can’t eat that much, and she told me about a 5 oz option not on the menu, which I got. There’s also a nice selection of wines and desserts.

We were in town today for our anniversary trip and decided on steak. We looked up several places before deciding on George's.
First the good... Alexis, our server was friendly, attentive, and very personable. Sadly this is the only highlight of our dining experience.
I ordered the Prime Rib, my wife ordered the Picanah. She asked for medium but ended up with half of the steak well done, and the other have about medium... not too terrible, but the texture of the meat was way off.. mushy and not good.
We sent it back, and she decided on the grilled chicken. We were informed that the back of the house agreed something was wrong with the Picanah and it shouldn't have turned out that way.
There were a few other small things that normally would have been nuances, but given we were spending $140 for a meal, they just didn't match the quality expected at a premium steak house.. Sour cream that appeared to have been frozen and thawed back out, dinner rolls that looked like they were torn in half on the bottom.. (pic added)
Having spent many years in the restaurant business I thought the restaurant may offer a dessert or even comp my wife's meal, especially after admitting there was a problem with it.... NOPE, in fact the Picanah was still on the bill. We addressed Alexis, who apologized and went to fix it. She ended up taking $5 off the bill to reflect the difference between the Picanah and the chicken.
Would we go back? absolutely not. Was our server excellent? Most definitely.
The manager / owner... somebody should have addressed the issue and handled it like a quality steak house would.
The 5 stars for service are based solely on our interaction with Alexis.
Oh side note, my wife did enjoy the Greek salad

My mother, sister, and I went to George’s 2 nights in a row as we were visiting family in the Hospital next door. Both times we were there, the servers and bartender went so far above and beyond to make us feel welcome and relaxed. The food is second to none in the area but even more important to us was the ambiance and wonderful staff. It was one of the best dining experiences I can remember and one we’ll cherish. Thank you so much to the staff and ownership for giving us a place of peace and fun as we dealt with a difficult situation.
I would recommend George’s to anyone seeking a memorable dinner.
I’m been going to George’s Steak Pit for over 20 years and I can say without question it’s still the Best steak house in North Alabama, if not the State! The owners are incredible people and go out of their way to make your experience is top notch!!! If your in North Alabama it’s a must stop!!!!

When the real owner sold, the food went downhill not because of staff but because new owners buying poor quality food.
The new owner is a psycho ! Yells at staff and customers! I would not even recommend visiting this place to Joe Biden… it’s sad that a treasure like this is a sinking ship due to Trimble!
Every single regular has stopped going there, if you call on a Friday night they have open tables 1st time in 30 years..

This joint needs to focus on the quality of the food and how to treat your customers instead of the nasty sign telling you what NOT to wear.
It shows they clearly don’t care about the service by there being noone in there the restaurant nor waiting to be seated as I’ve seen at a class restaurant like a RUTH CHRIS.
This place is WAY OVERPRICED for what you get. We did it once and will not be back. We don’t complain to the staff or management at any restaurant we visit and clearly we are not alone as the place was as dead as that poor RIBEYE they cooked into the ground. Ain’t no since in killing the steak twice when once was enough..
The signature dish is the George’s PRIME RIBEYE! It was a very tough piece of meat and way overcooked. Ask for Medium Rare and it came MEDIUM to WELL!
Mixed Vegetables had broccoli stalks two green beans and something else.
Loaded Backed Potato wrapped in aluminum foil butter cheese and scallions.
The hostess at the door that seated us and the others at the front was wonderful. They all have smiles and greeted our group of four wonderfully. That should be the ones waiting on tables.
