The food was great, but the service was better! The server accidently gave us the wrong order when we picked up our to go order. The restaurant called us before we even made it home and asked us how they could make it right and even offered to meet us halfway to bring us the correct food! They were so kind and helpful. The Tallents are customers for life!

Closing 2 to 4 on a Saturday not good. First time stopping by today. Seeing people setting there eating and being told we are closed. I give my hard dollars to La Cabanita just now.

No flavor at all ordered 2 hamburger steak plates and got two thin burgers covered with onions mushrooms and gravy and the meat was watered down from sitting in water rather than a hamburger steak green beans no flavor Mac and cheese no cheese all very plain even the mushrooms were from a can?? We’ve been eating there since they opened back up and they have let us down with this. My dog wouldn’t even eat it and that’s not good. If you like plain then that’s where to go if I could have put no stars I would have.

The Joint has done it again. A frozen, dry hamburger. Without the small amount of mushroom gravy on this mushroom swiss burger, I think I would have choked on it. Oh, and top it off with a burnt bun. I'm done with you!

Great place to eat. Outside on a patio is the only seating. Food is great.

I've been so disappointed by Alabama's barbecue scene in the last few years. The big names have become lackadaisical, serving bland meat covered in an overly-sweet sauce to disguise their lack of skill at the pit. Newcomers have been unremarkable. But today, I visited the Joint and was blown away by the tenderness of the meat, the seasoned tang of the sauce, and the excellence of all the fixings. The prices are astoundingly good for the amount and quality of food you get. The burgers were BURGERS, not haphazardly heated pucks of overcooked ground beef. The fixings were amazing. The pork barbecue was no lie, the best I've had since well before Covid ruined the food scene up and down the state. Server/Owner/whomever was staffing the restaurant and handling orders was just a delight and went above and beyond without being cloying--something Birmingham's restaurauteurs could learn from. She was efficient, she worked hard, and she was polite and friendly. The only issue I have is that the location is noisy to a distracting level. But this is barbecue, this is a traditional, roadside barbecue and burger place catering to your tastebuds--not your ears. And boy, do they cater to the tastebuds. I had no idea that such good barbecue was in easy driving distance of me, but now I do...my waistline and my bank account are going to have an inversely proportionate change.

Ok folks, tonight, the joint won't ever have to worry about being compared to other food services. I couldn't believe how good the side salad is. We ordered it as an appetizer and it came out right away giving us enough time to enjoy it before the meal was served. Very hardy salad and the dressing taste house made. It was delicious. Thank you all at the joint for a fine dining experience tonight.

I live in the nearby metropolis of Odenville. Which is limited to just a few choices for food. I had past by this place several times on my lunch break as I go to the bank around the corner. I noticed that there is an area for entertainment on the side and I wanted to inquire. I stopped in and decided I would try the hamburger steak with gravy and onions. It was delicious and I will be returning. Service was great and the outdoors atmosphere is preferable to me. Keep up the great work and we'll see you again soon. Thank you for not letting me starve that day.
