We ate at the Founders Pub (Old Tom's Pub) at Pursell Farms two times, 3/20 and 3/22/25. One dinner and one lunch. We believe they make from scratch as both were excellent but I'll tell you about lunch as we found it exceptional. We ordered the lunch specials of chicken soup with grilled cheese and pork belly with bacon jam (I think that is a close description). Hubby is a home chef and very knowledgeable (and picky) about taste, presentation and execution. He couldn't find any fault for the pork belly sandwich and enjoyed it tremendously. I am not a soup eater usually but wanted to try something different and found the chickens soup to be delicious. We think it had at least a half of a chicken in the soup. Hearty and savory. We also were impressed with the generous portion sizes at the pub and at Arrington's. That was particularly refreshing and we felt supported your pricing. In Indiana, fine dining establishments tend to reduce portion sizes greatly. We ate at Arrington's March 21, 2025 and really enjoyed the entire dinner. Anyone traveling to Sylacauga AL must make reservations for both. You will not be disappointed.

This was a great first experience for me. What a great experience it was too. The food was great, the service was beyond our expectations. It is great to see motivated workers who seem to work very well together. The facility is absolutely fabulous and the food was by far the best I have had EVER! Thank you for a great first experience...I will be back.

We dined on Valentine's Day. The service was good but I went to specifically order a duck confit pasta I had the week before. It was amazing and came with a super thick and creamy Alfredo sauce with large amounts of mushrooms and a fair amount of duck. What I got in this second trip for the same pasta was very different. This trip I was met with a plate of equal parts pasta to duck (not complaining about the extra duck) and barely any sauce. The noodles appeared very dry to the naked eye. I explained to the server that the same dish a week earlier was loaded with a delicious creamy Alfredo sauce. He requested sauce from the kitchen which took ~15 minutes to bring. By that time the rest of our dinner party was more than halfway through with their burger. I was then served a very thin, very tasteless “Alfredo sauce.” I make Alfredo sauce at home. It's not difficult. I'm constantly disappointed in the inconsistency of the food here. Every time I find a dish I love, it's not the same the next time I order it. With the prices being charged and the reputation I believe they're searching for in a dining experience, I expect way better.

my wife and I were at Pursell Farms to celebrate her birthday. we thoroughly enjoyed our experience(s) at the Founder's Pub. it has a fun vibe and the food was incredible. our favorite dishes were the caesar salad, seafood gumbo, and the fried shrimp tacos. my wife had the margherita pizza (she even shared some with me) and it was great. after eating (and enjoying) our experience at the Founder's Pub friday night, we returned there for breakfast and lunch the next two days. we highly recommend the breakfast offerings. we also enjoyed the game room area with a pool table, board games, and playing cards available. we do want to show our appreciation to all the staff in the Founder's Pub. everyone was welcoming, cordial and engaging, and they all provided excellent service and recommendations - expecially the hostess, and the two Marlee's. thanks to all at the Founder's Pub for the great service and food!

Had issues with the appetizer and the side with the meal but the French dip was delicious and my granddaughter had the best fish the service was great and the manager took care of us and said that they had a new chef and where working out the problem over all would go back and get them a another try

This was our third (fourth?) Christmas Day lunch at Founders Pub. It seems that we like it. It's a bit of a a drive from Birmingham, but worth it. Beautiful setting and full menu and bar service. It's also quiet and un-crowded. Everything served fresh and hot.

We sat at the bar for dinner and I don't think the bartender wanted us there. We ordered a drink and then two sandwiches, it took 45 minutes to get our food and my sandwich was cold. They appologized and removed it and it came back 20 minutes later - when my wife was done eating. They didn't charge me for it....but the bartender disappeared. He never returned, someone else figured out how to print our check and we we charged it to our room and left. Not a pleasant experience....

They were having an off day. The food has been very good on our previous visits. The hush puppies were good but the sauce was sparse. We asked for more and 20 minutes later it was brought. Orders were wrong. Food was delivered without plates or utensils. The chicken salad sandwich was sparse with wilted lettuce leaves and the bread seemed like a thin slice of wheat bread versus what was described on the menu. Only one if the 4 meals was good. The tater tots were good. The black berry cobbler had no crust and instead a cookie was dropped onto the top. They added vanilla ice cream but drizzled it with some flavor that didn't work. The carrot cake was very dry and seemed stale. The bills were wrong twice. We spent at least 2 1/2 hours trying to eat through all the mishaps. This was our first disappointing visit and I'm sorry to have to write this review but someone should know.

The Pub will always be a neat place to go for a special occasion or such simply because of the ambience and the beauty of the farm. However, the food took a crash dive in late 2019. There has been several attempts by a couple new chefs since, but none seem to be able to attain what Chef Andrea and her team had going there. Some days are better than others, but on this occasion I was served a Three Little Pigs BBQ sandwich that was refrigerator cold. For the prices that are charged at the Farm, the food should be excellent...it is not.

Great food! Good service. This is such a nice little find for the drive through Alabama! Highly recommend. My husband said the rib eye was the best he had ever had...and he's had a lot of beef! We also had the charcuterie board and Brussel sprouts. All excellent!

The grouper meal was excellent. And to top it off, I went for the Brownie Sundae! It was amazing, but I had to bring 3/4 of it home. It is a dessert for 2 people to share. Great service and if you want a quieter atmosphere, I suggest going earlier than normal meal time.

Nice view of the 18th hole. All the people in the resort have been nothing but nice. Pizza was $32 for a pepperoni so be prepared to pay. My wife had chicken salad salad and it was ok. Enough pizza for 3-4 people.
