I didn’t know that I love City Bowls. My first time there & I love it. It was very clean, smelled great & the staff was delightful. Even better is the food. It’s so refreshing to eat such delicious food without the guilt. I’m happy to say I have a new place to eat for our Friday tradition, weekly lunch out.

My four children all under 10 & I went to City Bowls in Trussville last night just after 07:30p. They had never had it before & love fresh fruit
So I was super excited to see how they would respond to the taste of a city bowl & knew they were in for a treat. The staff appeared to be breaking things down & trying to leave in a hurry, but the store was still open for another 25 min. The bowls were made promptly with good portions, but staff seemed like they had one foot out the door already. We paid our bill at 07:40p & sat down at one of the tables to eat sharing 2 large bowls. As you can imagine with one adult & 4 small children it took us a minute to organize, portion & share our bowls. At 08:03 the redheaded teenager comes over to our table & says "EXCUSE ME SIR I'M GONNA HAVE TO ASK YOU TO LEAVE!" I didn't understand as my children & I still haven't finished. Trying to clear the confusion I ask one another employee behind the counter if there was a problem?? She states YES... we closed 3 minutes ago & have to mop the floors. First off you never ask a customer to leave while they're still eating their food. Okay thats disrespectful, unprofessional & rude. Number two, there's nowhere to sit outside for me & my small children. She made my son cry because he thought we did something wrong & they were kicking us out & we wouldn't be able finish our bowls. Finally, you still have your sign on after you close & your asking paying, tipping customers to leave. In utter disbelief we gathered our unfinished bowls & eat outside on sidewalk like a family of hobos after paying $30 & a generous 20% tip only minutes ago. I worked in the restaurant business for years & understand people want to get home after working & not wait around on people just sitting around & talking, but that just part of it & have dealt with it more times than I care to share, but never asked patrons to leave a couple of minutes after closing & especially
NOT while they're still eating their food. That's just trashy & classless. I don't care if your a teenager, your still an employed by this establishment... act like it!

Açaí bowl was good and service was excellent but online menu said $5 for a 8oz bowl, it was really $8. Still good though.
