If Cracker Barrel, Cheers, and a Bass Pro Shop had a baby and raised it on smoked meats and sweet tea wisdom—it would be Old Dowdle Gas & Pub.
Walked in for lunch, left with a new appreciation for life, three new cousins, and a man named Rick trying to get me to join his softball team.
The burger? Life-changing.
The atmosphere? Like a family reunion where nobody’s fighting.
The bar? It's like your living room if your living room cooler vibes, colder drinks, and a waitress who remembers your name and your ex’s.
There’s a man at the corner stool who may or may not be the mayor of a neighboring town (unconfirmed). Somebody ordered a fish sandwich and started crying. At one point, someone behind the counter just yelled “roll tide” and we all clapped like it was the national anthem.
If you haven't been here yet, go. If you've already been, go again. If you're on the fence—go sit at the bar until you figure your life out.

Thank you for letting us have my husband's 50th birthday party here. The staff was so great with our large group and the food was yummy as usual. Everyone had a great time!

We waited over an hour to get our food—not entirely unexpected given how busy it was, so I won’t hold that part against them. But spending $50 on wings for two people and only being able to stomach seven says everything. The ranch dressing was so watery it might as well have been flavored water, and the wings tasted like they’d been microwaved the day before. To make matters worse, one of the wings had a hair cooked into it. I’m literally writing this while sitting in the McDonald’s drive-thru just to get something edible. This was hands down the worst food I’ve ever had from a restaurant.

I have nothing bad to say. Food was excellent, service was also very spot on. Nice little local pub. Bartender makes fantastic drinks and even had one with us! We will definitely be back!

Other than the fight that occurred; traumatizing and injury one mine and my friends kids the place is amazing and a welcome addition to warrior. Food is great!

Overall great place to eat and drink. Food quality and beer selection is fantastic. The only complaint I have is when it's busy good luck getting a seat or sitting outside and getting someone to see you. Not necessarily a bad thing to be that busy but for regulars being missed it's disappointing when you spend $$$$ weekly at this establishment.

Lunch outing with coworkers. This place was on my list to try. And I wasn't disappointed. The staff was great, the food was delicious, and the people were quite friendly. Great all around.

Such a great restaurant, we've always enjoyed the food and super happy to see they are using beef tallow instead of seed oils for frying now. We'll be visiting more often now ☺️
