We've always wanted to try The Tamale Factory in Augusta, AR. We were heading out to survey a private land owner's swamplands for rare plants, and amongst the expansive fields you drive through on the way to get there, all of a sudden you see a large barn with a parking lot, completely full of vehicles, in the middle of "nowhere". It was so beautiful at sunset and the staff were so incredibly welcoming. We sat down and tried their famous tamales and chili, which was just perfect for an impromptu Friday date night dinner :)
So happy we stopped in before closing, (they are only open Fridays and Saturdays 5-10pm). We thoroughly enjoyed their tamales! They have fancy steaks, salads, a few other options and a full bar, but we had bottomless sweet tea instead. Their staff was super sweet, attentive and courteous and the food came out really fast. This is a fun and interactive meal where you unwrap each tamale and cover them with chili before devouring them with a big smile. Definitely recommended!!!!

This place is excellent! The Porterhouse steak was some of the best I’ve had, my wife enjoyed her shrimp, the service was outstanding, and the beer prices were more than fair. This place is a must if you’re in the area!

I was between 3-4 stars on service. Dining in if it busy, it took an unreasonable amount of time to get our food. But if I pick up carry out, no issues. Tamales are great.
