Tried Swiss steak (Lunch special) for the first time. I enjoyed it good quality meal at a good price. Old diner/cafe atmosphere that I really like. It is geared towards a older clientele. Comments from the peanut gallery are unsolicited lol

I passed through on a road trip a while back and it's not fine dining, but basically the entire menu is comfort food. If desperately want to use a time machine to visit a 1950s southern restaurant, this place is pretty close to that; it doesn't appear to have been remodeled since the Eisenhower administration. Try the country ham and eggs with biscuit and gravy, you won't be disappointed. It would probably make a pretty good filming location if you're into that.
Vegetarian options: There are a handful of meatless offerings but nothing special, and nothing for vegans. It's passable for a small town like Bald Knob, if you know what I mean; better than just a garden salad, you'll get full, but the options are limited.
Dietary restrictions: No vegan options. No kosher/halal options. No low-sodium options.
Parking: Smallish paved lot in front, sufficient to the size of the place.
Kid-friendliness: There's a kid's menu section, and the servers are friendly to kids.
Wheelchair accessibility: We had a party member using a rollator and and there was plenty of clearance, and another nearby table had someone in a wheelchair who seemed to be a regular from how they were chatting with the staff. I didn't check the restrooms though, and the pavement near the disabled parking spots was kinda rough.

First of all the staff was very nice. I ordered the Ruben, with fries and a sweet tea. The tea was great as well as the fries. The Ruben on the other hand was the worst I ever had, and I knew after one bite. I’m usually easy on food, but there is too much room for improvement here.
